2025 Buffalo Bills Outlook
It’s setting up to be a big year for the Buffalo Bills, a team that has come painfully close to its first Super Bowl win but continues to fall just short — usually at the hands of Patrick Mahomes. This season, star quarterback Josh Allen will have even more offensive weapons at his disposal, and the Bills defense looks stronger after key additions.
Ranked No. 2 in our NFL Team Rankings for 2025–26 and facing a relatively favorable schedule, the Bills have everything they need to finally break through. The only question is whether they can translate regular-season dominance into postseason success.
Key Buffalo Bills Matchups in 2025
The Bills Mafia stands out as one of the NFL’s most passionate fanbases, making each game this season a must-watch event. However, some especially competitive matchups promise extra excitement. Here are the key games you absolutely shouldn’t miss:
Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs 2025 Matchup
Regular Season Rivalry Record: Bills lead 30-26-1
Whether you’re a casual football fan or a die-hard member of Bills Mafia, the 2025 showdown between Buffalo and Kansas City is can’t-miss football. In Week 9, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes — two of the NFL’s most elite quarterbacks — will square off in their only regular-season meeting. Recent history has made this matchup one of the league’s fiercest, with the Chiefs knocking the Bills out of the playoffs in four of the past five years, including last season’s AFC Championship.
More than just a standout regular-season encounter, this game serves as a litmus test for Buffalo’s Super Bowl aspirations and a likely preview of another high-stakes postseason battle.
- Game 1: Sunday, November 2nd (Week 9)
- Kickoff: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Where to Watch: CBS; Paramount+
Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins 2025 Matchups
Regular Season Rivalry Record: Dolphins lead 62-60-1
Despite being on opposite ends of the East Coast, this classic AFC East rivalry feels particularly close to home for fans on both sides. Miami holds a slight edge in the all-time regular-season series, but entering 2025, Buffalo is projected to sit near the top of the division while Miami is expected to struggle. Even if this year’s matchups don’t carry the same competitive balance as in previous seasons, the intensity and passion of this rivalry keep it on this list of must-watch football.
- Game 1: Thursday, September 18th (Week 3)
- Kickoff Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Where to Watch: Prime Video
- Game 2: Sunday, November 9th (Week 10)
- Kickoff Time: 1 p.m. ET

Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots 2025 Matchups
Regular Season Rivalry Record: Patriots lead 79-51-1
Traditionally one of the NFL’s marquee rivalries, Bills–Patriots games have often carried a sense of heavyweight competition. But for much of the past 25 years, New England’s Tom Brady–led dynasty tilted the balance heavily in the Patriots’ favor. The tide turned after Brady’s departure, with Josh Allen elevating Buffalo into a perennial contender while New England searched aimlessly for answers. Since 2020, the Bills have gone 8–3 against the Patriots, and they enter 2025 expected to keep that momentum rolling.
- Game 1: Sunday, October 5th (Week 5)
- Kickoff Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Where to Watch: NBC
- Game 2: Sunday, December 14th (Week 15)
