Adobe AIR lets developers combine various web technologies (including HTML, Ajax, Adobe Flash®, and Flex) to create rich Internet applications (RIAs) that you can run on your computer desktop without a web browser.
The AIR version of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online is a standalone application that lets you enjoy live streams of every NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ game on your PC or Mac without a web browser. You also get highlights, scores, stats and more — all with a click of your mouse.
No, there is a browser-based service. Just log in to access the NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online service on your browser. The browser service, however, has limited features.
You will be able to watch live video streams, see scores, field position, possession and clock along with statistics. You simply will not be able to access highlights from the game or get interactivity in the full screen mode or a mini-mode state.
You will have to have Flash Player 9 installed.
You can watch NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ ONLINE on any computer you want but you can only watch it on one computer at a time. Please remember to log off from your computer before watching it on another computer.
If you are seeing a message that says, "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author." — try uninstalling the application and downloading again.
If you are seeing a message such as "Sorry, an error has occurred. Try installing again. If the problem persists, contact the application author. Error #0." — try uninstalling the application and downloading again.
To uninstall the application, go into your Program Files and look for the DIRECTV folder. Delete the DIRECTV folder and then go to www.directv.com/manhattan and try to install again.
Select Open to continue the installation and then Install when you are asked "Are you sure you want to install this application to your computer?" This should complete the installation.
This is a current bug in the NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online application. To fix it, you need to tap ALT on your keyboard, then spacebar, then M, then arrow key to the right or left and NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online will appear on the screen again.
You will have to have a minimum Internet connection of 360 kbps. If you use a public wi-fi service, video quality may be compromised, as the shared connectivity and wireless broadband may result in less-than-optimal connection speeds.
The NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online interface will load and a video stream of the Red Zone Channel™ will automatically play in the video window if it is currently on-air.
Unfortunately, you will not have much success watching live video but you can see scores and statistics for the games.
With either the AIR version or the web-browser version, you can select NFL SUNDAY TICKET games to watch live by selecting a specific game in the left-hand column. You can also view statistics for the game you are watching and for all NFL SUNDAY TICKET games by using the dropdown menu of games in the Stats area of the interface.
If you're using the AIR version of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online, you can also view video highlights for all NFL SUNDAY TICKET games including the one you are watching by selecting the game from the dropdown menu in the Highlights column and then selecting the particular highlight you want to see. You can also view NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online in three modes: full screen, standard mode and mini-mode.
You will be able to watch all the games available on NFL Sunday Ticket™ channels, but due to NFL blackout restrictions, some games may be unavailable based on your ZIP code of your billing address. Blackout restrictions apply if your local team hasn't sold out within a certain time and if a game is being shown on one of your local affiliate stations (i.e., Fox and CBS). However, you will still be able to access statistics and highlights for all games.
You can select one of two streaming speeds to optimize your viewing. If you have a relatively slow connection or use WiFi, choose the "Low" setting. If you have a standard DSL or fiber connection, choose the "High" setting.
No, we use encryption and Digital Rights Management (DRM) to protect our content from unauthorized distribution and viewing.
The stop button is on the far left of the control bar, which appears when the video is playing. Pressing the stop button will pause the live video. Pressing it again will resume the live stream of video. It will not start where it was stopped. The volume bar is on the right of the control bar. You can adjust it by moving the bar from left to right. Clicking on the speaker icon next to the volume bar will mute the audio.
If you're using the AIR version of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online, to the right of the volume area are icons for the mini-mode and full screen viewing. Selecting the mini-mode icon will present the video in a smaller window with a game selector option. Selecting the full-screen icon will put the video full screen with the interactive features including game selection and highlights. To return to the NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online interface from full screen and mini-mode, press the ESC key.
When most errors occur, the NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online service will provide advice on what you can do to remedy the situation. You can also find further help and useful information at directv.com in the customer support section of the site, which is also accessible via the NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online interface by selecting the Help tab in the upper right corner of application's interface.
You might have been bumped out of the NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online service because another computer has logged in with your user name and password. You can have only one login to the video stream at a time.
If your video service for NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online is not working well, try a different video setting. It could also be the result of a loose physical connection or unstable wireless connectivity, so it's always a good idea to check your connections. If you are still experiencing difficulty, the problem might be caused by high traffic on your local network or ISP (Internet Service Provider) or your bandwidth may be in use by another application. Downloading large files or using peer-to-peer applications while watching video, for example, may prevent you from being able to receive enough data to maintain a constant video stream. Your viewing experience will be affected if our servers are unable to deliver data to your computer quickly enough because of network congestion on your connection. Turn off any other programs that are sharing your connection like other browser windows and email programs. You might also try restarting the computer to close other programs that may be running in the background.
This could be due to anti-virus/security software you have installed on your computer. Some security programs might interpret the launch of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online as a pop-up. If you disable pop-ups and ads through your anti-virus/security software (not just in your browser), you should get NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online service to work. Once you have NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ ONLINE launched and it's working, you should be able to turn security back on. You also might consider making DIRECTV NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online an exception site that doesn't get the anti-virus/security rules applied to it.
Currently, the NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ Online service has to apply blackout rules as determined by the NFL. These rules apply when your local team hasn't sold out within a certain time or if the game is being shown on one of your local affiliate stations (i.e., Fox and CBS). The ZIP code of your billing address is used to determine NFL blackout rules. For the time being, if you are traveling, you will be able to watch those games online that you're be able to watch online at home.
Your computer hardware might not be meeting the specifications for this service. You need at least a 65k video display card in order to show the video correctly.
