What equipment is covered by DIRECTV Protection Plan?
If your DIRECTV device stops working as expected for any covered reason, we’ll troubleshoot, repair, or replace it! DIRECTV Protection Plan covers your DIRECTV system from mechanical or electrical failures caused by defects in materials and/or workmanship, normal wear and tear, and dust, heat or humidity. The plan also includes coverage for power surge failures and accidental damage from handling. You may upgrade to the latest equipment every 2 years with a 24-month agreement (additional equipment fees may apply). This plan covers all DIRECTV remote controls, connection/switches, dish antenna, wiring/switches, and dish antenna alignment. It includes technical support between the hours of 5 AM - 2 AM CT, 7 days a week at 800-531-5000 and on-site repairs, plus the cost associated with replacing defective equipment.

Coverage also includes DIRECTV equipment, including remote controls, dish antenna, dish antenna realignment, and associated cabling and switches. Plus, upgrade to the latest DIRECTV equipment every 2 years.

What is the difference between DIRECTV Protection Plan Premier and coverage plans sold by retailers?
There are several advantages to this plan versus the typical plan sold by retailers. Features include:
An upgrade to the latest equipment every 2 years.
Low monthly payment instead of a large one-time payment.
Computer coverage includes computers, laptops and tablets, plus select accessories.
Premium technical services included at no additional charge.
Television support includes all LED, LCD, plasma televisions in a household, not just one TV. Standard remote controls also included.
Does not expire until you cancel the service.
Can be canceled at any time.
No need to find receipts or warranty paperwork to have a claim fulfilled.
Optional Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) coverage is available for only $6.00 more per month for only the following devices: laptops, tablets, printers, health and fitness bands, smartwatches, premium audio headsets (headphones), portable DVD players with screens, gaming consoles, game controllers, and virtual video eyewear.
Will my devices be repaired or replaced under DIRECTV Protection Plan Premier and/or DIRECTV Protection Plan Premier + ADH?
We will first attempt to repair the product. If that is not possible, we will replace it. For additional details, view the Terms & Conditions at the bottom of this page.
