How Did the Colorado Rockies Do in 2025?
The Colorado Rockies endured a historically rough 2025 season, finishing 43–119—one of the worst records in MLB history.
After a 7–33 start, the team fired longtime manager Bud Black and replaced him with Warren Schaeffer, who went 36–86 as interim manager before being named full-time skipper for 2026.
Despite the struggles, there were a few bright spots. Catcher Hunter Goodman led the way with 31 home runs, 91 RBIs, and an .843 OPS, earning All-Star and Silver Slugger honors. Ezekiel Tovar and Mickey Moniak also provided offensive production.
On the mound, Kyle Freeland served as the team’s de facto ace but led MLB with 17 losses, highlighting the Rockies’ overall pitching struggles.
It was largely a season to forget—but with a young roster and a new manager in place, Colorado enters 2026 looking to reset and rebuild.
Colorado Rockies TV Schedule
Fresh off a historically bad season, the Rockies are trying to turn the page in 2026 by not getting off to a historically bad start. Unluckily for them, 38 of their first 41 games are against teams that will be competing for a playoff spot, including last year’s World Series participants the Blue Jays in the 2nd week of the season and the Dodgers in mid-April.
To the rest of the MLB, Colorado is David to their Goliath. But they also present the ultimate trap series for a team assuming that there will be nothing rocky about the matchup.
Here’s a look at the team’s first two months of play, along with where to watch live. And while the Rockies don’t have any nationally televised games during that span, fans can tune in on the team’s MLB.tv streaming channel, MLB Colorado Rockies Channel.
If you can’t make it out to the ballpark, there are plenty of ways to catch every game on the Rockies schedule on DIRECTV. Below are a few places where you can watch the Rockies’ baseball games.
Rockies fans who prefer streaming can catch local games with MyHome Team, a new add-on to DIRECTV’s MySports® package. Available exclusively to MySports subscribers, it brings local MLB, NBA and NHL games into one streamlined viewing experience.
MyHome Team includes access to a growing lineup of regional sports networks and team-specific channels, covering in-market teams based on your location. It also features news and commentary from teams outside your area.
The add-on is available for $19.99/month in select metro regions, with more markets coming soon. You can check availability by entering your ZIP code in the DIRECTV lookup tool. As of now, teams like the Colorado Rockies, Dodgers, Cubs, Braves and more are already included.
The Colorado Rockies may not be a top-tier team right now, but they still have intriguing talent—including one of the most exciting prospects in baseball. Here are some of the key players to watch this season:
Hunter Goodman – Catcher
In his first full MLB season, Goodman earned All-Star honors while hitting 31 home runs, 28 doubles, and driving in 91 runs with an .843 OPS—elite production for a catcher. He’s expected to see more time at DH to stay fresh, as he remains the Rockies’ top offensive threat.
Ezequiel Tovar – Shortstop
The 23-year-old was limited to 95 games in 2025 and didn’t show the same power as in previous seasons. Still, he’s just one year removed from leading the National League in doubles and winning a Gold Glove. If he stays healthy and continues improving his plate discipline, he adds much-needed punch to the lineup.
Jordan Beck – Left Field
Beck had a solid rookie season, hitting .258 with 27 doubles, 16 home runs, and 19 stolen bases. As a full-time starter, he projects to be one of the more consistent offensive contributors on the roster. He was especially effective in two-out situations, posting his best numbers in those moments.
Michael Lorenzen – Starting Pitcher
Lorenzen was an All-Star back in 2023 after a stellar first half in Detroit and rediscovered some of that groove in KC, but he’s largely struggled with command ever since. The veteran provides some leadership for a young team, but he doesn’t carry a fate-changing ability for this underwhelming Rockies roster.
Chase Dollander – Starting Pitcher
A former first round pick, Dollander went just 2-12 in 21 games last season with a 6.52 ERA. So far this spring he is 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA in seven innings pitched. If this 2026 version is here to stay, he at least gives Rockies fans a young star to look forward to.
Ethan Holliday – Shortstop
The most exciting name in the Rockies organization is Ethan Holliday. The son of Matt Holliday and brother of Jackson Holliday, he has the tools to become a franchise cornerstone. The 6’4” left-handed hitter brings impressive power and athleticism, with the ability to stick at shortstop or shift to third base if needed. At just 19, his debut may not come this season—but he’s the prospect every Rockies fan is watching.
Colorado Rockies Rivals
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Colorado Rockies
As expansion teams from the 1990s, the Rockies and Diamondbacks have been division rivals from the start. The matchup hasn’t been especially competitive in recent years, but there’s history here—including Colorado’s sweep of Arizona in the 2007 NLCS.
Heading into 2026, the two teams appear to be on very different trajectories. Still, any matchup between NL West rivals carries weight, and the Rockies will be looking to capitalize on every opportunity when these teams meet.
Matchups:

May 21-24
August 10-12
September 22-24
