DIRECTV offers a variety of technical solutions to meet the needs of today's multiple-family home (MFH) property owners and technicians-MFH2™ and MFH3™.
Both solutions provide access to all of DIRECTV's programming and services, including DVR, HD channels (current and planned), interactive services and more. MFH2 and MFH3 are available for installation by your authorized DIRECTV MDU dealer only.
DIRECTV MFH3™
Reasons for choosing MFH3
- MFH3 offers all DIRECTV programming and services using IP-based technology

- It allows remote management and troubleshooting-on-site or via the Internet

How it works
- MFH3 is designed to work with fiber-optic backbones and structured wiring installations
- It can use existing wiring, including Ethernet CAT5, CAT3 and coaxial cable
- MFH3 Gateway technology converts DIRECTV signals into industry-standard IP video packets, then transmits them to IP-enabled DIRECTV receivers
- MFH3 supports remote management functions, including software upgrades

- Network-managed devices can be monitored by expert technicians at Technicolor Network Services via a secure VPN connection

How it works
- A single dish can serve each building or property
- Each MFH2 8-channel Single Wire Multi-switch (SWM) distributes the signal to multiple residential units
- A single cable into each unit can support all DIRECTV receivers
- Low-cost splitters distribute the signal via cables to each receiver within the unit
Integration with other services
High-speed data integration allows double-play and triple-play bundling of voice/data services, including broadband internet access.
