The Seattle Mariners put together their best season in 24 years last year, winning their first American League West title and reaching the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2001. Seattle’s young 2025 corps was aided by huge additions at the deadline to launch them into the playoffs and bringing them within one game of the World Series.
Cal Raleigh put together a historic season, and it feels like this is just the beginning for Seattle. A team full of elite young talent that got a taste of playoff pressure and responded admirably. All that means the Mariners are among the top five World Series contenders for this season.

How Did the Mariners Do in 2025?
The Mariners finished 90-72 to win their first American League West title since 2001.
Cal Raleigh led the majors with 60 home runs, a record for a catcher, and finished second in MVP voting. He led the American League in RBIs while serving as the consistent force behind the Seattle offense.
Julio Rodriguez put together the second 30-30 season of his career, playing in 160 games and leading the league in playoff appearances.
Josh Naylor was signed at the deadline and provided a huge boost in the second half of the season, batting .340 with 3 home runs during the Mariners’ playoff run.
Randy Arozarena put together an all-star season as well, making his first All-Star Game since 2023 after a down year in 2024. He slugged a career-high 27 home runs and put together his best OPS since 2023.
On the mound, Brian Wu was the surprising ace for the Mariners, leading the team with 15 wins and a 2.94 ERA. Luis Castillo and Logan Gilbert put together solid seasons, but Gilbert, George Kirby and Bryce Miller all missed much of the season with injuries. On paper, this is one of the best rotations in the league, and 2026 is their chance to prove it.

Seattle Mariners TV Schedule for 2026
The Mariners open as favorites in the American League West and one of the favorites to win the AL pennant. But predictions mean little in baseball, and their division is packed with playoff contenders.
The American League West was decided in the final weeks of the 2025 season, with the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers also vying with the Mariners for the top spot. Seattle faces Texas six times in the first month of the season and Houston four times, meaning big gains (or losses) could come early in the division race.
The Athletics are also a sneaky team to keep an eye on. They’re on the periphery of most playoff predictions but have some future stars on their roster and can steal a series.

Games without national networks listed are typically available to watch on the team’s RSN, local streaming channel or MLB.tv team channel.

Best Seattle Mariner Players in 2026
Here are all of the best Seattle Mariners players right now. Keep your eye on them as the season progresses.
Julio Rodriguez, Center Field
The 25-year-old center fielder is simply one of the best players in baseball. In 2025, he put together his second 30-30 season, made his third All-Star Game, finished top eight in MVP voting for the third time and hit 30 or more extra base hits, reestablishing a power that was lacking the year prior. Rodriguez is the center of this lineup once again, locked in as the engine of a balanced offensive attack who has reduced his strikeouts in three consecutive years.
Cal Raleigh, Catcher
Raleigh put together a historic season for a catcher, obliterating the previous home run record by posting 60, which led the major leagues. In fact, he couldn’t stop hitting home runs. He won the Home Run Derby and hit five home runs in the Mariners 12 playoff games.
Raleigh led the American League with 125 RBIs, all for a .948 OPS. He may not post 60 home runs again, but there’s no reason to think he’s slowing down anytime soon.
Josh Naylor, First Base
Naylor was a revelation for Seattle as soon as he joined the team. In his first 50 games after the deadline, he hit nine home runs and 10 doubles with an .831 OPS, and in the playoffs he batted .340 with three home runs. He impressed the organization so much that Seattle signed him to a five-year, $92 million deal as a key piece of their lineup moving forward. With a full season in his new home and much of the same lineup around him, Naylor is in a prime position to have a big year.
Brandon Donovan, Infielder
With the loss of Jorge Polanco, the Mariners tabbed Donovan as a bridge option ahead of their top prospects. Donovan is a career .280 hitter who gets on base, plays good defense and provides solid offensive contributions. He’ll likely start at second or third base and has the versatility to play all over the infield.
Randy Arozarena, Left Field/Designated Hitter
Arozarena returned to All-Star form last season, hitting 27 home runs and 32 doubles, leading the majors in hit by pitches and stealing 30 bases for the first time since 2022. Seattle is going to once again look to him as a key part of this lineup if they’re going to take the pennant and make a run at the World Series.
Logan Gilbert, Pitcher
Gilbert is the ace of this staff when healthy. He pitched well down the stretch of the regular season, going 3-1 with a 2.52 ERA, but stumbled at times in the postseason and was limited to just 25 starts in the regular season. When Gilbert is healthy and at his best, he leads one of the better rotations in all of baseball.
Brian Woo, Pitcher
Woo set a new career high with 30 games started and won 15 of them with a 2.94 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP as batters hit just .200 against him. It was a breakout season for the third-year right-hander and a major confidence boost as he looks to take the next step and cement himself as a top-of-the-rotation arm on an excellent staff.
George Kirby, Pitcher
Kirby is looking to bounce back after a down year in 2025, when he was limited to just 23 starts and posted a 4.21 ERA. He still struck out 137 batters in just 126 innings, which speaks to the elite stuff that makes this Mariners rotation so dangerous. Health is the key for Kirby in 2026.
Bryce Miller, Pitcher
Miller is also trying to put a disappointing season behind him. Limited to just 18 games in 2025, he went 4-6 with a 5.68 ERA and struggled with command. It was a sharp contrast to his 2024 performance when he posted a 2.94 ERA and a sub-1.00 WHIP. Miller has shown elite command before and is determined to prove 2025 was an outlier.
Colt Emerson, Infield/Outfield Utility Player
The number nine overall prospect has every chance to make this roster for Opening Day. Emerson is a dangerous left-handed hitter with easy 20-home run power who is rapidly improving his defense. With J.P. Crawford holding down shortstop, Emerson will likely see time at second or third base.
Michael Arroyo, Infielder
The Mariners have a deep roster of infielders, but if they need a solid bat in the middle of the infield, Arroyo is knocking on the door. Primarily a second baseman, he has stolen 30 bases and hit 40 home runs over the last two seasons in the minors. He could also see time in the outfield.
Biggest Seattle Mariners Rivalries in 2026
Here are the top Seattle Mariners rivalries to watch in 2026.
The Vedder Cup: Seattle Mariners vs. San Diego Padres
A rivalry has brewed between the Mariners and the Padres, rooted in the fact that both cities have a shared connection to Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder. His ties to Seattle and San Diego and his deep love of baseball helped spark interest between two franchises that had gone through historic droughts in playoff appearances.
Now with both teams pushing for postseason berths, this interleague series provides a compelling matchup each season.
