Minnesota Timberwolves at Detroit Pistons — 7:00 PM — Amazon Prime Video, FanDuel Sports Detroit, FanDuel Sports North
The Detroit Pistons (55-21, 1st East) have been the Eastern Conference’s defining story, holding the top seed without their All-Star point guard Cade Cunningham, who is out with a collapsed lung — and the Pistons have gone 6-2 in his absence. The Minnesota Timberwolves (46-29, 5th West) arrive with Anthony Edwards, who returned from knee inflammation last week and is fighting to maintain his MVP case in the final stretch. Detroit needs to protect the top seed with the regular season ending April 12, and Cunningham must appear in roughly five more games to reach the 65-game threshold for individual awards eligibility.
Phoenix Suns at Charlotte Hornets — 7:00 PM — NBA League Pass, FanDuel Sports South, FanDuel Sports Southeast, Scripps
The Phoenix Suns (42-34, 7th West) are pressing to avoid slipping further in the Western Conference play-in picture, needing wins badly with 10 games remaining. The Charlotte Hornets (40-36, 10th East) are playing with equal urgency: Charlotte leads the league in three-pointers made at 16.2 per game and Kon Knueppel has emerged as a breakout star at 18.8 points per game. Devin Booker anchors the Suns at 25.8 points per game, and a Charlotte injury report showing zero players unavailable gives the Hornets a health edge heading into this late-season matchup where both teams badly need the two points.
Los Angeles Lakers at Oklahoma City Thunder — 9:30 PM — Amazon Prime Video, Spectrum SportsNet, FanDuel Sports Oklahoma
The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder (60-16, 1st West) and the Los Angeles Lakers (50-26, 3rd West) meet in what shapes up as a likely playoff preview, with OKC having already won the season series 2-0. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the NBA MVP frontrunner and delivered 47 points in overtime against Detroit last week, while Luka Doncic enters in strong form after scoring 42 points against Cleveland in his previous outing. Oklahoma City is attempting to become the first back-to-back NBA champion since the 2017-18 Warriors, and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs remains the priority for the league’s best team.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors — 10:00 PM — Amazon Prime Video, NBA League Pass, FanDuel Sports Ohio, NBC Sports Bay Area
The Cleveland Cavaliers (47-29, 4th East) visit a Golden State Warriors team (36-40) that has been devastated by injuries — Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler III, Moses Moody and Gary Payton II are all unavailable, leaving Brandin Podziemski as the Warriors’ leading scorer by default. Donovan Mitchell leads Cleveland at 27.7 points per game and the Cavaliers have gone 7-3 in their last 10, managing the health of Jarrett Allen and others with the playoffs in mind. Golden State is playing out the string outside even the play-in picture, and this is a near-automatic road win opportunity for a Cleveland team tuning up for a postseason run.
New Orleans Pelicans at Portland Trail Blazers — 10:00 PM — NBA League Pass, Gray TV / Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network, Sinclair / Rip City Television Network
The Portland Trail Blazers (39-38, 8th West) have won seven of their last nine, including a 114-104 road win over the Clippers on Tuesday, and host the lottery-bound New Orleans Pelicans (25-51) in a game with direct play-in implications. Deni Avdija has been Portland’s breakout star at 23.9 points per game, and the Blazers are trying to hold off the Clippers for the final play-in spot. A Portland win keeps the pressure on. New Orleans has lost five straight and has given up 134 points in its most recent outing, making the Pelicans a favorable opponent for a Blazers team playing its best basketball of the season.
San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Clippers — 10:30 PM — NBA League Pass, FanDuel Sports SoCal, FanDuel Sports Southwest
Victor Wembanyama put up 41 points and 18 rebounds on Tuesday against Golden State, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to post 40-plus points and 15-plus rebounds in consecutive games. His Spurs (57-18, 2nd West) arrive in Los Angeles on a back-to-back while chasing Oklahoma City’s No. 1 seed by 2.5 games. The Los Angeles Clippers (39-37, 8th West) just dropped a 114-104 decision to Portland and are fighting to stay in the play-in picture, with Kawhi Leonard leading the team at 28.1 points per game. San Antonio is 2-0 against the Clippers this season and averages 119.6 points per game — third-best in the NBA — making the Spurs a tough out even on short rest.
