When Does the NFL Season Start in 2026?
The 2026 NFL Season begins Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC. The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks host the New England Patriots, the team they defeated in Super Bowl LX.

2026 Full NFL Team Schedules
There are 32 NFL teams split between two conferences: the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).

2026 NFL International Games
A record nine NFL games will be played internationally. Australian fans will see a Rams regular season home game before LA fans will. games this season will be played in Melbourne, Australia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Paris, France; Madrid, Spain; Munich, Germany and Mexico City, Mexico.
Melbourne, Australia
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams
Date: Thursday, Sept. 10
Venue: Melbourne Cricket Ground
This is the NFL’s first-ever regular season game at the MCG in Melbourne.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys
Date: Sunday, Sept. 27
Venue: Maracanã Stadium
This will be the third regular-season game hosted in Brazil and a first for Rio, following two previous games in São Paulo.
London, U.K. (Game 1)
Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Commanders
Date: Sunday, Oct. 4
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
London, U.K. (Game 2)
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Date: Sunday, Oct. 11
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
London, U.K. (Game 3)
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Houston Texans
Date: Sunday, Oct. 18
Venue: Wembley Stadium
This will be the Jaguars’ 16th game in the capital and the third time they will play back-to-back games in London in one season.
Paris, France
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints
Date: Sunday, Oct. 25
Venue: Stade de France
This marks the first regular season matchup in France.
Madrid, Spain
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons
Date: Sunday, Nov. 8
Venue: Bernabéu Stadium
The NFL returns to the Spanish capital for a second consecutive regular season game.
Munich, Germany
New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions
Date: Sunday, Nov. 15
Venue: FC Bayern Munich Arena
This will mark the sixth regular-season game to be held in Germany, and the third to be played in Munich.
Mexico City, Mexico
Minnesota Vikings vs. San Francisco 49ers
Date: Sunday, Nov. 22
Venue: Estadio Banorte
This game will see the NFL return to Mexico for the first time since 2022 and will be the sixth regular-season game hosted in the country since 2005.
