If you get your local channels from DIRECTV:
You're all set for the Digital Transition. If you have TVs in your home that are not connected to your DIRECTV service, simply order additional DIRECTV receivers for them.
If you don't get your local channels from DIRECTV:
Check to see if DIRECTV provides local channels in your area. If so, add local channels to your DIRECTV package. Call us at 1-800-531-5000 to see if you qualify for a special local channel offer. If DIRECTV does not offer locals in your area, you have a few simple options:
- Get a DIRECTV receiver with a digital tuner and connect it to an off-air antenna. Learn more.
- Get a digital TV with a built-in digital tuner and connect it to an off-air antenna.
- Purchase a digital-to-analog converter box, available at major electronic retailers. Go to www.ntia.doc.gov/dtvcoupon or call 1-888-DTV-2009 (1-888-388-2009) to request a $40 converter box coupon from the U.S. government. You can request a coupon through July 31, 2009.
