What Is ‘Street Fighter’ (2026) About?

Based on Capcom’s popular fighting video game franchise, Street Fighter is set in 1993 and follows Ryu and Ken Masters, two former friends and training partners whose relationship was fractured by an incident from their past that neither has spoken about. Their paths cross again when a mysterious woman named Chun-Li recruits them to compete in the World Warrior Tournament, a high-stakes fighting competition that brings together some of the world’s most formidable martial artists.

But there’s more to the tournament than meets the eye. As Ryu and Ken prepare to face off against powerful opponents, they start to uncover a dangerous conspiracy.

Meet the Cast of ‘Street Fighter’ (2026)

Here’s a closer look at the cast of Street Fighter, the characters they bring to life on the big screen and some of the franchise’s established video game lore to help you get caught up before the film premieres:

Andrew Koji as Ryu

Known from: Bullet Train, Warrior, Snake Eyes, Seneca, Black Doves, Double Trouble

Andrew Koji stars as Ryu, a Japanese martial artist and one of the most iconic characters in the Street Fighter franchise. In the upcoming film, Ryu appears to have stepped away from fighting when Chun-Li approaches him about competing in the World Warrior Tournament.

Throughout the franchise, Ryu has been deeply devoted to his training, and he usually lives a relatively solitary life, traveling the world in search of stronger opponents and opportunities to perfect his skills. Unlike many of his fellow fighters, Ryu has little interest in fame, wealth or recognition, instead viewing martial arts as a lifelong journey of self-improvement.

Trained by the martial arts master Gouken alongside his longtime friend and rival Ken Masters, Ryu practices a form of Ansatsuken, a powerful fighting style that combines traditional martial arts techniques with energy-based attacks. Despite his calm demeanor, Ryu struggles to control the Satsui no Hado, a dark power that threatens to consume him.

His signature move is the Hadouken, a concentrated blast of energy released from his hands, akin to a fireball.

Noah Centineo as Ken Masters

Known from: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, Charlie’s Angels, Black Adam

Noah Centineo portrays Ken Masters, an American martial artist and another popular character from the Street Fighter franchise. Ken is confident, charismatic and occasionally arrogant, with a competitive streak that makes him a natural rival to his friend and training partner, Ryu. In the upcoming film, Ken appears to have embraced the spotlight, turning his fighting career into an MTV media spectacle.

Unlike Ryu, who approaches martial arts with a more serious and disciplined mindset, Ken typically portrayed as being flashier and he enjoys showing off his abilities. Coming from a wealthy family, Ken has a more privileged background than many of his fellow fighters, but his skill in combat is the result of years of dedicated training under the martial arts master Gouken.

He’s particularly known for his aggressive fighting style, signature red uniform and powerful Shoryuken uppercut.

Callina Liang as Chun-Li

Known from: Presence, Bad Genius, Tell Me Everything, Foundation

Callina Liang takes on the role of Chun-Li, one of the franchise’s most recognizable fighters and the first female playable character introduced in Street Fighter II. Known for her intelligence and strength, Chun-Li is a highly skilled martial artist who recruits Ryu and Ken Masters to compete in the World Warrior Tournament in the 2026 film.

Throughout the Street Fighter franchise, Chun-Li’s pursuit of the criminal organization Shadaloo has been deeply personal. As an Interpol agent, she’s determined to bring down its leader, M. Bison, who is responsible for her father’s disappearance.

She specializes in Chinese martial arts, relying on speed, agility and powerful kicks to overwhelm her opponents. Her signature techniques include the Lightning Kick, a rapid series of strikes, and the Spinning Bird Kick, an acrobatic move that sends her spinning upside down toward her enemies.

David Dastmalchian as M. Bison

Known from: Oppenheimer, Dune, The Suicide Squad, Late Night with the Devil, Ant-Man

David Dastmalchian takes on the role of M. Bison, one of the most notorious villains in the Street Fighter franchise. A ruthless dictator and the leader of the criminal organization Shadaloo, Bison seeks to expand his power and establish control over the world through intimidation and manipulation.

Bison possesses a supernatural energy known as Psycho Power, which allows him to unleash devastating attacks, manipulate energy and enhance his physical abilities. As the mastermind behind Shadaloo, Bison has longstanding rivalries with several fighters, including Chun-Li, Guile and Cammy, whose lives have been directly affected by his organization’s activities.

His signature techniques include the Psycho Crusher, a powerful spinning attack that sends him flying toward his opponents surrounded by destructive energy.

Jason Momoa as Blanka

Known from: Aquaman, A Minecraft Movie, Road to Paloma, Supergirl, Game of Thrones

Jason Momoa steps into the role of Blanka. Known for his green skin, bright orange hair and beast-like appearance, Blanka is a ferocious fighter who relies on his incredible strength, agility and animalistic instincts to overwhelm opponents. Despite his intimidating appearance, he has a gentle and compassionate side, particularly when it comes to his mother.

Originally a human boy named Jimmy, Blanka survived a plane crash in the Brazilian rainforest and grew up isolated from civilization. His unusual appearance and ability to generate electricity have been explained differently throughout the franchise.

His signature moves include the Electric Thunder, which shocks opponents who get too close, and the Rolling Attack, which allows him to curl into a ball and launch himself toward enemies at high speed.

Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma

Known from: Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Wrong Missy and his WWE career

WWE superstar Roman Reigns takes on the role of Akuma, a ruthless martial artist who dedicates his life to becoming the strongest warrior possible. Akuma believes that true strength can only be achieved through combat against worthy opponents. Unlike fighters motivated by fame or fortune, he seeks to push his abilities beyond human limits, even if it means sacrificing his humanity.

Akuma is closely connected to Ryu’s past, having trained under the same martial arts master, Goutetsu, as Ryu’s teacher, Gouken. However, he fully embraces the Satsui no Hado, the dark and destructive power that Ryu struggles to resist, granting him extraordinary strength and devastating fighting techniques.

His signature moves include the Gohadoken, a powerful energy projectile, and the Raging Demon, a deadly attack that unleashes a rapid series of strikes against his opponent.

Cody Rhodes as Guile

Known from: Arrow, The Naked Gun and his WWE career

Professional wrestler Cody Rhodes takes on the role of Guile, a tough, disciplined American military officer and one of the original playable characters introduced in Street Fighter II. Known for his signature flat-top haircut and large, muscular build, Guile approaches every fight with the precision and determination of a trained soldier.

Guile’s rivalry with M. Bison is deeply personal, stemming from the disappearance and presumed death of his close friend and fellow soldier, Charlie Nash, at the hands of Shadaloo.

His signature moves include the Sonic Boom, a projectile attack that sends a wave of energy toward opponents, and the Flash Kick, a powerful somersault kick designed to strike enemies from below.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog

Known from: Power, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, The Frozen Ground, Escape Plan and his music career

Rapper and actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson plays Balrog, a former professional boxer with a brutal fighting style and aggressive personality. Balrog is motivated primarily by money and has little regard for the rules or sportsmanship.

Balrog’s boxing career came to an end after he was banned from professional competition for his violent behavior, eventually leading him to join M. Bison’s criminal organization as one of its top enforcers. Unlike many of the franchise’s fighters, Balrog relies almost entirely on his fists, using powerful punches, charging attacks and sheer physical strength to overpower opponents.

His signature techniques include the Dash Straight, a charging punch that closes the distance between him and his enemies, and the Turn Punch, a devastating blow that becomes stronger the longer he prepares it.

Orville Peck as Vega

Known from: His country music career

Country singer Orville Peck plays Vega, a Spanish fighter known for his obsession with beauty, elegance and perfection. One of the most visually distinctive villains in the Street Fighter franchise, Vega is a narcissistic and ruthless assassin who believes physical beauty represents superiority and views anything he considers ugly with contempt. He wears a distinctive mask to protect his face from injury and fights using a three-pronged metal claw attached to his hand.

Vega serves as one of M. Bison’s elite operatives within Shadaloo, using his speed and acrobatic abilities to eliminate opponents. His fighting style combines Spanish ninjutsu with elements of bullfighting, allowing him to leap off walls, execute aerial attacks and strike with remarkable precision.

His signature techniques include the Flying Barcelona Attack, an acrobatic maneuver in which he launches himself toward opponents from above, and the Rolling Crystal Flash, a series of rapid forward strikes with his claw.

Melanie Jarnson as Cammy

Known from: Mortal Kombat, Blacklight, Witchboard, C*A*U*G*H*T, Between Two Worlds

Melanie Jarnson takes on the role of Cammy White, a highly skilled British special forces operative and one of the most popular female fighters alongside Chun-Li. Cammy is a disciplined and sometimes emotionally reserved fighter who takes her missions seriously.

Cammy’s past is closely tied to M. Bison. She was originally created as a genetically engineered clone of Bison and trained to serve as one of his mind-controlled assassins known as the Dolls. However, she eventually broke free from his control and joined Britain’s elite Delta Red unit.

Her fighting style emphasizes speed, agility and powerful kicks, with signature techniques including the Spiral Arrow, a spinning kick that propels her toward opponents, and the Cannon Spike, a devastating upward kick designed to launch enemies into the air.

Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim

Known from: Force, Khuda Haafiz, Commando, The Power

Bollywood actor and martial artist Vidyut Jammwal takes on the role of Dhalsim, a peaceful yoga master from India who possesses some of the most unusual fighting abilities in the franchise. Dhalsim believes in nonviolence and generally avoids conflict, but he’s willing to fight when necessary to protect his family and others in need.

Through years of meditation and spiritual training, he’s developed the ability to stretch his limbs to extraordinary lengths, teleport and breathe fire. His signature techniques include Yoga Fire and Yoga Flame, which allow him to unleash powerful bursts of flames against his opponents.

Olivier Richters as Zangief

Known from: Black Widow, Reacher, Miami Heat, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Dutch bodybuilder and actor Olivier Richters plays Zangief, a towering Russian professional wrestler known for his enormous strength, muscular physique and larger-than-life personality. Nicknamed the “Red Cyclone,” Zangief takes great pride in his wrestling abilities and his homeland, often entering competitions to demonstrate the power of Russian wrestling.

Despite his intimidating appearance, he’s generally good-natured, honorable and passionate about inspiring others through his sport. Unlike fighters who rely on energy attacks or weapons, Zangief specializes in powerful grappling techniques, including his signature Spinning Piledriver, which involves lifting an opponent into the air before spinning and slamming them into the ground.

Hirooki Goto as E. Honda

Known from: Headshot and his professional wrestling career

Japanese professional wrestler Hirooki Goto takes on the role of E. Honda, a powerful sumo wrestler. Known for his immense strength, competitive spirit and pride in Japanese culture, Honda is dedicated to proving that sumo wrestling deserves recognition as a legitimate fighting style on the world stage.

His fighting style combines traditional sumo techniques with incredible speed, allowing him to overwhelm enemies with moves like the Hundred Hand Slap, a rapid series of open-palm strikes, and the Sumo Headbutt, a charging attack that sends him flying headfirst toward opponents.

Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki

Known from: Upgraded, Feast of the Seven Fishes, Tires, Benders, You People

Andrew Schulz plays Dan Hibiki, one of the more comedic characters in the Street Fighter franchise. An overconfident martial artist with an inflated sense of his own abilities, Dan considers himself a legendary fighter despite frequently falling short of his own expectations. He practices Saikyo-ryu, a fighting style he created himself, and spends much of his time trying to recruit students to his martial arts school.

His rivalry with the Muay Thai fighter Sagat stems from a personal grudge involving his father’s death, although Dan’s attempts at revenge are often overshadowed by his exaggerated confidence and questionable fighting skills.

His signature moves include the Gadoken, a notably weak version of Ryu’s Hadouken, and the Koryuken, his take on the Shoryuken uppercut.

Eric André as Don Sauvage

Known from: The Eric Andre Show, Bad Trip, Little Brother, Happy Gilmore 2, Man Seeking Woman

Eric André plays Don Sauvage, the eccentric ring announcer for the World Warrior Tournament in Street Fighter. Unlike many of the other characters in the film, Don Sauvage isn’t an established playable fighter from the video games, making his role a relatively new addition to the franchise.

Rayna Vallandingham as Juli

Known from: Underdog Kids, Cobra Kai, Citadel and her martial arts career

Martial artist and actress Rayna Vallandingham takes on the role of Juli. Introduced in Street Fighter Alpha 3, Juli is another one of the Dolls, the elite group of female assassins who have been brainwashed and trained to carry out Bison’s orders. Originally a young German woman named Julia, she was kidnapped and subjected to Shadaloo’s mind-control experiments, stripping her of her memories and free will.

Juli specializes in fast, acrobatic attacks and coordinated combat.

Alexander Volkanovski as Joe

Known from: Two-time UFC Featherweight Champion

UFC fighter and former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski takes on the role of Joe, one of the original opponents introduced in the first Street Fighter game in 1987. An American kickboxer known for his aggressive fighting style and powerful strikes, Joe is a relatively minor character in the franchise compared to fighters like Ryu and Ken.

Kyle Mooney as Marvin

Known from: Saturday Night Live, Zoolander 2, Y2K, No Hard Feelings, Miracle Workers

Kyle Mooney plays Marvin, a new character introduced in the 2026 Street Fighter movie. Unlike the film’s many recognizable fighters, Marvin doesn’t have an established history in the video game franchise, and details about his personality and role in the story have yet to be revealed.
