The 2022 mid-term election is a critical one for the future of our country, including 36 gubernatorial elections with important outcomes for many states. Voter interest remains high, which is why DIRECTV is launching Election HQ on Nov. 7 to provide simultaneous, multi-view coverage of the results as they roll in.
The Election HQ will feature a mix channel alongside additional features provided in partnership with the Associated Press. This simulcast is similar to other unique mosaic experiences provided by DIRECTV surrounding key events like the U.S. Open, Wimbledon and the Women’s U.S. Open, as well as past key elections.

The Mid-Term Experience will offer a single-screen mosaic with four simultaneous news channels providing side-by-side coverage of the results as they come in. Beyond the mix channel, there will be additional features to enhance the experience including:
- Senate and House results
- Results ticker
- An interactive app with access to state-by-state results Senate, House and key ballot outcomes
Which Channels Will Be Featured?
The four channels featured in the Election HQ were selected using data on the top performing national networks and the number one international network. Channel placement within the mix channels will correspond with their channel number in the DIRECTV guide. These selections also align with news channels most frequently featured in DIRECTV’s ongoing news mix channel.

What’s On the 2022 Mid-Term Election Ballot?
During this election cycle, all 435 congressional districts will vote for their House representatives, and 35 Senate seats (of 100) are contested. There are also other key initiatives on the ballot as well as some integral decisions in state and local elections (although Election HQ will only cover national and some gubernatorial results).
