On May 15 for International Family Day, families around the world will be recognized through Ronald McDonald House’s first-ever global spokes-family campaign, Famous Family; a heartfelt initiative shining a light on the strength, resilience and love families show during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Recognized by the United Nations, International Family Day honors the important role families play in building strong communities. For Ronald McDonald House, it’s also an opportunity to recognize the millions of families who have leaned on its programs and services while navigating a child’s illness or injury.
Meet the McBride Family
At the center of this year’s campaign is the McBride family, whose story reflects the powerful impact of staying together through uncertainty and recovery.
After a devastating car accident led to the premature birth of their daughter, Juliana, the family faced months of surgeries, hospital stays and specialized medical care. During that time, Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City became not just a place to stay, but also a source of comfort, connection and support while they focused on what mattered most: being together.
Their journey is a reminder of the strength families carry through difficult moments and the importance of having a supportive community beside them every step of the way.
Helping Families Stay Close to Care
Through a global network of more than 250 Chapters across 60+ countries and regions, Ronald McDonald House helps families stay close to the care their child needs. From overnight accommodations and meals to emotional support and essential resources, the organization works to remove barriers so families can remain together during difficult times.
