‘Dancing with the Stars’ Week 6 Preview
Heading into Week 6, 10 couples remain and things are getting personal. Dedication Night asks each celebrity to dance in honor of someone who shaped their life.
One couple will look a bit different this episode. Val Chmerkovskiy has been suspended for the week over online comments he made about judge Carrie Ann Inaba, and Alan Bersten will dance with Jenna Dewan in his place. This puts Jenna Dewan at a disadvantage, as she has never danced with this partner before.
Many of the night’s dances are dedicated to family members, though a few take a different approach. Julia Stiles will honor her 10 Things I Hate About You co-star Heath Ledger, Tatyana Ali will pay tribute to her Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star James Avery and Maura Higgins will celebrate her home country of Ireland.
The night also carries a tribute performance to Dolly Parton set to “Here You Come Again.”
Here’s the full Week 6 lineup of songs and dances:
| Couple | Dance | Song | Dedicated To |
| Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov | Contemporary | “Breathe Me,” Sia | Her sister, Brooke |
| Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold | Viennese waltz | “Piano Man,” Billy Joel | His dad, Pete |
| Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach | Contemporary | “Bloodline,” Mon Rovia | His mom, Bahar |

| Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik | Viennese waltz | “(You Don’t Know) How Glad I Am,” Nancy Wilson | James Avery |
| Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess | Contemporary | “Supermarket Flowers,” Ed Sheeran | Mothers everywhere |
Pro and troupe routines fill out the night, including a performance to “CATastrophe” by Hilary Duff. No guest judge has been announced, so scoring returns to the 30-point scale.

What is ‘Dancing with the Stars’ About?
Dancing with the Stars pairs a celebrity with a professional ballroom dancer and gives them one week to build a routine for live television. Three judges score the dance, and the audience votes on their favorite. The two different scores are combined, and the couple with the lowest score goes home. By the finale, only the top pairings remain, with the winning couple taking home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Season 35 brought sixteen new couples into the ballroom, tying Seasons 9 and 31 for the largest cast in the show’s history. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return as hosts and Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli return to the judges’ table.
