The 76ers trailed this series 3-2 and appeared headed for elimination, then Tyrese Maxey scored 30 points and Paul George added 23 as Philadelphia beat Boston 106-93 in Game 6 to force a deciding game. Game 7 returns to TD Garden, where the Celtics have home court and the full weight of crowd advantage behind them. Joel Embiid, who underwent an emergency appendectomy earlier in the month, is expected to play and his presence or absence will define how much Philadelphia can realistically ask of Maxey in crunch time. Jayson Tatum left Game 6 briefly with a calf issue and his health is the key variable heading into a game where Boston has more margin for error at home.

If Tatum is healthy and playing with the control he showed earlier in this series, the Celtics are too deep at home to lose.
