It's Tough to Be Famous

Naval captain Scott McClenahan (Douglas Fairbanks Jr.) is on a doomed submarine, and he and his mates seem to be facing certain death. He sends them to the surface and sacrifices himself only to be saved at the last minute. McClenahan becomes an instant celebrity for his heroics, and hordes of admirers and lavish parties enter his life. McClenahan never wanted this fame, merely wishing to live a happy life with new wife, Janet (Mary Brian) -- but the media frenzy could ruin their domestic bliss.
