Marvel Studios has explored some of the most beloved stories of the Marvel Comics and alternate storylines from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the small screen over the years, too.

There are over two dozen television shows from Marvel Studios following some of the most popular and most powerful superheroes — and supervillains — and most have been largely successful. Here’s how they stack up.

1. ‘X-Men ’97’ (2024– Present)

Starring: Cal Dodd, Ray Chase, Terri Douglas

Marvel Animations’ X-Men ’97 revives the beloved and iconic ’90s animated classic, following Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Wolverine, Morph, Beast and Rogue as they use their extraordinary abilities to defend a world that mostly fears and rejects them. The show drew near-universal acclaim for its writing, animation and emotional maturity.

2. ‘Daredevil’ (2015–2018)

Starring: Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio

One of Netflix’s breakout hits, Daredevil follows blind attorney Matt Murdock who spends his days practicing law and his night’s defending Hell’s Kitchen as the masked vigilante Daredevil. The series is known for its stellar, groundbreaking choreography and cinematography and is widely considered one of the best all-time Marvel TV shows. The main cast, including Cox and D’Onofrio, reprised their roles in Daredevil: Born Again, and Cox appeared as Daredevil in The Defenders.

3. ‘The Punisher’ (2017–2019)

Starring: Jon Bernthal, Amber Rose Revah, Ben Barnes

A spinoff of Netflix’s Daredevil, The Punisher follows ex-Marine Frank Castle. As he seeks to avenge his murdered family, Frank discovers a new purpose as a vigilante/ruthless murder machine, crossing path’s some of New York’s other heroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Spider-Man. Bernthal, with his brooding, moody delivery, was a hit in the role, and he reprised the character in The Punisher: One Last Kill, Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

4. ‘Loki’ (2021–2023)

Starring: Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino

Loki picks up immediately after the events of The Avengers when Loki opened up another timeline with the Tesseract and is brought to the Time Variance Authority, a sort of temporal police agency, where he is given a choice: Be wiped from existence entirely or help fix the timeline in the face of a greater threat. He teams up with Owen Wilson’s Morbius for a time-shifting, superpowered buddy cop series.

Loki is also considered one of Marvel television’s masterpieces, with Wilson and Hiddleston delivering prime performances and a deeper, more emotional look at the complex villain-turned-anti-hero that is Loki.

5. ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ (2025–Present)

Starring: Charlie Cox, Hamish Allan-Headley, Vincent D’Onofrio, Wilson Bethel

A continuation of the original Daredevil Netflix series, Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again picks up with Matt Murdock’s old double life catching up with him. Once again, his antagonist in the series is Wilson Fisk, who is seeking to consolidate his power over New York City and ruin Matt Murdock’s entire life in the process. Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye returns, as well.

Daredevil: Born Again officially brought the beloved cast of Daredevil under the MCU umbrella.

6. ‘WandaVision’ (2021)

Starring: Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Kathryn Hahn

The first of the post-Avengers: Endgame storylines, this meta-homage to network television follows Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch and The Vision live out an idyllic suburban existence. Not everything is as it seems though, and as the series shifts tone and style through from 1950s black-and-white to high-energy 90’s primetime sitcoms, cracks begin to appear in the couple’s seemingly perfect life.

7. ‘Jessica Jones’ (2015–2019)

Starring: Krysten Ritter, Rachael Taylor, David Tennant

Jessica Jones is a hard drinking, superpowered private investigator in Hell’s Kitchen, the same neighborhood as Daredevil, who takes on cases involving people with extraordinary abilities following her own failed attempt at superhero-hood. Eventually, she falls victim to David Tennant’s mind-controlling villain Kilgrave and has to fight to extract herself from his influence. Tennant’s first season portrayal of the “Purple Man” himself is among Marvel Studio’s most menacing villains to date, and the show was praised for its dark, mature tones, especially in the first season.

8. ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ (2013–2020)

Starring: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton

The original Marvel TV show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. follows Agent Coulson as he leads an elite team of agents hunting down various threats within the Marvel universe. Over seven seasons, the show evolves from a case-of-the-week spy thriller into a sweeping sci-fi saga involving Hydra, Inhumans, space travel and time manipulation.

9. ‘Hawkeye’ (2021)

Starring: Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Florence Pugh

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Clint Barton just wants to quit being Hawkeye and get home to his family for the holidays, but his past can’t stop catching up to him. He teams up with named Kate Bishop, a teenage archer that began idolizing him after witnessing his defense of New York City during The Avengers as a young girl and sees herself as the next Hawkeye, to unravel a massive conspiracy.

10. ‘Wonder Man’ (2026)

Starring: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ben Kingsley, X Mayo

In Wonder Man, struggling actor Simon Williams navigates a Hollywood that has banned superpowered people from working in the film industry as he tries to hide his own powers and chase his big break. But that break comes in a much different form than he expected.

11. ‘What If…?’ (2021–2024)

Starring: Jeffrey Wright, Terri Douglas, Matthew Wood

What If…? is an anthology series that finds the alternate universes of pivotal moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show features the main MCU cast and shows how small actions, like if Peggy Carter became Captain America instead of Steve Rogers or T’Challa/Black Panther became Star-Lord of the Guardians of the Galaxy, can lead to dramatically different outcomes.

12. ‘Moon Knight’ (2022)

When Steven Grant learns he’s been imbued with the power of an Egyptian moon god and that he’s not actually who he thinks he is, he must grapple with shifting between his split identities as Steven. former mercenary Marc Spector and the superhero Moon Knight, to stop a growing and sinister threat.

13. ‘Luke Cage’ (2016–2018)

Starring: Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi

When a botched prison experiment leaves Luke Cage with super strength and unbreakable skin, he emerges as a protector of the Harlem community as he contends with his own past and criminal elements in the city. Luke Cage was lauded for featuring a Black superhero in the lead role and its exploration of Black culture.

14. ‘The Defenders’ (2017)

Starring: Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones

The first made-for-TV supergroup show a la The Avengers features Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist as they team up on a grave threat to New York: the criminal organization known as The Hand. This show was the culmination of the original Netflix run of street-level superhero shows, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

15. ‘Agatha All Along’ (2024)

Starring: Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata

Agatha All Along follows the titular character Agatha Harkness who first appeared in WandaVision as Wanda and The Vision’s quirky neighbor, Agnes. Agnes’s character was an instant standout, but the big reveal came at the end of the series: She was actually the series antagonist, and her villain reveal came with its own catchy musical number that segued into the title of her own series. In Agatha All Along, Harkness is freed from Wanda’s long-standing spell, and she sets out to reclaim her lost powers alongside a makeshift coven and mysterious teenager.

16. ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ (2021)

Starring: Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell

In the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes are put on a team to investigate an anarchist group that is believed to have recreated the Super Soldier Serum. When Sam attempts to give up the shield and mantle of Captain America, the pair are also forced to work alongside John Walker, who was handed the role in his stead and isn’t exactly the embodiment of morality and patriotism that Steve Rogers was.

This series entrenched Sam Wilson in his role as the new and current Captain America in the MCU.

17. ‘Werewolf by Night’ (2022)

Starring: Gael García Bernal, Laura Donnelly, Harriet Sansom Harris

Werewolf by Night is a black-and-white throwback to classic monster movies. Following the death of legendary monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone, a group of hunters gathers for a deadly competition to determine who will inherit the powerful Bloodstone. Among them is the mysterious Jack Russell, who is hiding the inconvenient fact that he is himself a monster. This one is a TV special rather than a full series.

18. ‘Marvel Zombies’ (2025–2026)

Starring: Iman Vellani, Todd Williams, David Boat

Marvel Zombies picks up a storyline from What If…? where a zombie outbreak consumes the Avengers. The series follows a group of superhero survivors trekking across a ruined world to end the plague.

19. ‘Runaways’ (2017–2019)

Starring: Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner

In Runaways, six Los Angeles teenagers uncover evidence that their parents belong to a secret organization called Pride and have been hiding some seriously sinister activities. As the teens discover powers, advanced technology and other secrets of their own, they band together and eventually run away from home to stop their parents.

20. ‘I Am Groot’ (2022–2023)

Starring: Vin Diesel, Fred Tatasciore, Bradley Cooper

A collection of animated shorts centered on the smallest member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, I Am Groot follows Baby Groot on a series of adventures across the galaxy. With minimal dialogue beyond his signature catchphrase, Groot gets into trouble with strange creatures, builds questionable inventions and generally causes chaos wherever he goes.

21. ‘Echo’ (2024)

Starring: Alaqua Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Chaske Spencer

A spinoff of Hawkeye, Echo follows Maya Lopez as the consequences of her violent life in New York force her back to her hometown in Oklahoma. There, she is forced to confront her past, reconnect with her family and Choctaw roots and reckon with the influence of her former mentor, Wilson Fisk. The gritty, street-level series also brings Charlie Cox’s Daredevil into Maya and Fisk’s orbit.

22. ‘Secret Invasion’ (2023)

Starring: Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman

Secret Invasion puts Nick Fury at the center of a paranoid espionage thriller when he discovers that a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls has been secretly infiltrating Earth. Fury reunites with his longtime Skrull ally Talos as the pair race to uncover who can be trusted and stop an invasion from within. The series brings back several MCU veterans, including Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman and Don Cheadle, while introducing Emilia Clarke’s G’iah, Kingsley Ben-Adir’s Gravik and Olivia Colman’s Sonya Falsworth.

23. ‘Ironheart’ (2025)

Starring: Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross

Ironheart follows genius inventor Riri Williams as she leaves MIT and returns home to Chicago, determined to build something that will make her name impossible to ignore. Her talent for creating advanced armor soon pulls her into the orbit of a charismatic criminal known as the Hood. Dominique Thorne reprises her role from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

24. ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ (2022)

Starring: Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth

A superhero comedy with a legal twist, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters, an attorney whose already complicated life gets considerably stranger when she becomes a Hulk like her cousin, Bruce Banner. Walters tries to balance romance, friendships, and a new job handling superhuman legal cases with the unwanted responsibilities that come with being a Hulk.

25. ‘Cloak & Dagger’ (2018–2019)

Starring: Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Gloria Reuben

Cloak & Dagger follows New Orleans teenagers Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two kids from very different backgrounds who discover that their newly awakened superpowers are mysteriously connected. Tandy can create daggers of light, while Tyrone can engulf enemies in darkness and teleport. The pair slowly realize they’re stronger together than apart, and the series leans into darker coming-of-age themes while mixing superhero action with crime and supernatural elements.

26. ‘Ms. Marvel’ (2022)

Starring: Iman Vellani, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff

Ms. Marvel introduces Kamala Khan, a Pakistani American teenager from Jersey City who spends much of her time daydreaming about becoming an Avenger — particularly her idol, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. After discovering a mysterious family heirloom that unlocks her superhuman abilities, Kamala suddenly gets the superhero life she’s always wanted, only to learn that powers come with much more baggage than she expected.

27. ‘Iron Fist’ (2017–2018)

Starring: Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, Tom Pelphrey

After disappearing for years following the deaths of his billionaire parents, Danny Rand returns to New York City with some unusual new skills: expert martial arts training and the ability to summon the power of the mystical Iron Fist. Danny attempts to reclaim his family’s company while battling a criminal organization known as the Hand.

Though necessary to set up The Defenders, Iron Fist was easily one of Marvel’s worst-received shows of all time.

28. ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ (2025)

Starring: Terri Douglas, Michael Woodley, Kimberly Bailey

Eyes of Wakanda is part of Phase 6 in the MCU multiverse saga. Taking place during the Sacred Timeline, it follows Wakandan warriors who, across different eras, are trying to recover dangerous vibranium relics.
