‘Dancing with the Stars’ Week 8 Preview
Heading into Week 8, eight couples remain and trade the ballroom for a Broadway stage. Disney Night celebrates the magic of Disney on Broadway, with every routine set to a song from a stage show, and ABC has moved the episode to Monday night due to the Midterm Elections on Tuesday, November 3.
Cynthia Erivo, who starred in Wicked and Wicked: For Good, joins the panel as guest judge, which puts scoring on a 40-point scale.
The team dances also return, with the hosts each dancing alongside one of two teams. Team Slaytopia, led by Alfonso Ribeiro with Tatyana Ali as captain, dances to “Zoo,” from Zootopia 2. Team Wildcats, led by Julianne Hough with Connor Wood as captain, dances to “We’re All In This Together,” from High School Musical.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson go in as the leaders after the season’s first perfect score. Here’s the full Week 8 lineup of songs and dances:

‘DWTS’ Week 7 Elimination
Two couples went home: Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess, Jackson Olson and Emma Slater. The results combined the judges’ scores and viewer votes from Dedication Night and Horror Movie Night, since nobody was eliminated the week before.
Tyler and Sharna had the lowest combined total on the board, 58 of 80. Jackson and Emma were the surprise. Their 67 matched Maura Higgins and beat Julia Stiles (62) and Tatyana Ali (60), who both stayed, so the fan vote decided their exit.

What is ‘Dancing with the Stars’ About?
Dancing with the Stars pairs a celebrity with a professional ballroom dancer and gives them one week to build a routine for live television. Three judges score the dance, and the audience votes on their favorite. The two different scores are combined, and the couple with the lowest score goes home. By the finale, only the top pairings remain, with the winning couple taking home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Season 35 brought sixteen new couples into the ballroom, tying Seasons 9 and 31 for the largest cast in the show’s history. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return as hosts and Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli return to the judges’ table.
