Brothers Digby (Neil Hamilton), John (Ralph Forbes) and Michael "Beau" Geste (Robert Colman) are stunned to learn that their financially troubled aunt, Lady Patricia Brandon (Alice Joyce), has stolen a precious gem. Determined to prevent the woman's arrest, Beau, Digby and John all step forward and claim to be the thief. But, instead of ending up in jail, the Geste boys quickly sign up for duty with the French Foreign Legion in Africa, where their military hitch proves to be a brutal one.
