A Lawman Is Born

Tom Mitchell (Johnny Mack Brown) works in a general store but is well aware of the anger of small-ranch owners, who suspect large-ranch owners are trying to force them off their lands. When the town sheriff is mysteriously shot, each ranching factions blames the other. Tom offers to be a hired gun for small-ranch owner Graham (Frank LaRue), but Graham refuses. When Tom considers working for the opposing side, Graham's daughter, Beth (Iris Meredith), convinces him to run for sheriff instead.
