‘The Traitors: New Blood’ Episode 7 Preview
Heading into Episode 7, 14 players remain and the Traitors have a huge decision to make. Episode 6 closed with Joe Vanella, Tomica Adams and Katie Fites in the turret debating whether to murder Victor Vollbrechthausen, at Tomica’s suggestion.
Victor is the only player who has figured anything out so far. He watched Joe and Tomica hand out apples the day before the funeral and had a hunch what the fruit was for. He’s spent two episodes trying to get anyone to listen to his theory. Nobody has.
That leaves the Traitors with a problem. Leaving Victor alive means leaving the one correct theory in the castle and hoping it keeps failing to land. Murdering him removes it, but killing the man who just accused Joe and Tomica by name is itself the strongest evidence anyone could ask for, and the Faithfuls have shown they will chase a tidy story when it appears.

Episode Recap
Episode 6, “A Murder of Necessity,” resolved the funeral cliffhanger. The players then completed a mission and then banished another Faithful at the Round Table.
The pot now stands at $97,000, and the Faithfuls have still not banished a single Traitor, but they have successfully banished five of their own.
The Murder
Joe, Clyde Moser, Mark Zgoda and Niyyah Hayes were still in their graves when the episode opened, waiting to learn which of them had been killed. Joe did not wait for the reveal. He turned to Niyyah and told her he had been made to sacrifice a Faithful, and that she was going to be murdered.
Niyyah’s tombstone was set alight to represent her murder, and she said afterwards that she imagined Joe had been clearing his conscience by telling her.
Strategically it was a strange kill. Niyyah had been one of Tomica’s closest allies and a reliable vote, and the Traitors gave her up to satisfy a deadline rather than to remove a threat.
The Mission
The players split into two groups. One went into the castle laboratory, where glass cases held the preserved heads of players from past seasons. Each head screamed when opened.
The other group waited outside in the graveyard. The mission was to get the screams from one to the other. The laboratory group had to listen to a head and then reproduce the sound themselves for the crew outside, who carried the heads to the gravestones and looked for the scream that matched the grave. It was this season’s version of telephone, played in shrieks.
Four heads had to be placed, worth $5,000 each, and the players got all four: Maura Higgins, Bob the Drag Queen, Phaedra Parks and Rob Mariano. The full $20,000 went into the pot, taking it to $97,000.
The Round Table
Victor spent the day trying to sell what became known in the castle as “Fruitgate.” He had seen Joe and Tomica offering apples before the murder, and he had worked out that the fruit was the weapon. He was right, but almost nobody believed him.
Tomica, Wyatt Gillespie, Victor and Michael Foote all took questions at the table. Led by Katie and backed by Clyde and Ben McDonnell, the group pressed Michael on why he seemed unworried about being murdered. Michael answered that the Traitors were using him as a shield to draw suspicion away from themselves, which was close to the truth but ultimately didn’t sway their opinions.
Michael Foote was banished and revealed as a Faithful, the fifth in a row. Tomica drew a single vote from Victor.
The episode ended in the turret, with the three Traitors weighing whether Victor had to go.

What is ‘The Traitors: New Blood’ About?
Hosted by Alan Cumming, The Traitors drops a group of players into a Scottish castle and secretly divides them into two groups: the Faithful and the Traitors.
All of the players work together on missions to build a shared prize pot. Throughout the game, the Faithful gather at the Round Table to try to identify the hidden Traitors, while the Traitors secretly murder Faithful players and continue pretending to be on their side. If every Traitor is identified and banished by the end, the Faithful split the pot. If even one Traitor survives, they take the whole thing.
Season 5, titled The Traitors: New Blood, is the first all-civilian season of the American series, with 22 everyday players chosen from more than 80,000 applicants. Players will be competing for a pot worth up to $250,000, and for the first time an extra $15,000 is added every time the Faithfuls successfully banish a Traitor.
Earlier seasons featured a mix of reality stars and other recognizable public figures, many of whom entered the game with established personalities and reputations. This cast arrives with neither, giving everyone a fresh start in the competition.
