Players to Watch: Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals

Seattle Mariners

Randy Arozarena — LF. Arozarena is hitting .302 as Seattle’s most reliable bat at the top of the order, pairing the average with a .393 on-base percentage that turns him into a problem for opposing pitchers. His .467 slugging percentage adds enough thump to keep defenses honest.

Luke Raley — RF. With 10 home runs and 27 RBIs, Raley has become the Mariners’ primary left-handed power source, slotting into the heart of the order against right-handed starters. He’s hitting .260, which keeps the strikeout-and-power profile from tipping fully one way and gives Seattle a usable bat through both halves of the lineup.

Logan Gilbert — SP. Gilbert takes the mound at 2-4 with a 4.45 ERA across 56.2 innings, with 57 strikeouts and a 1.15 WHIP. The strikeout total remains a strength, and the WHIP suggests he has generally limited traffic even as his ERA sits above his usual standard.

Kansas City Royals

Bobby Witt Jr. — SS. Witt is hitting .299 with a .369 on-base percentage and a .482 slugging mark, and he’s already pushed seven home runs and 23 RBIs into the ledger for a Royals team that needs every ounce of his offense. The shortstop spot also gives Kansas City an athletic anchor in the middle infield, and the bat carries the lineup often.

Salvador Perez — C. Perez has eight home runs and 21 RBIs even with a .211 average, the kind of stat line that confirms his power has held up while the contact rate has slipped. He remains the veteran voice behind the plate and the most likely Royal to change a game with one swing in a leverage at-bat.

Noah Cameron — SP. Cameron carries a 5.40 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP across 41.2 innings, with 36 strikeouts pointing to a young arm still working out how to limit damage when the count tilts. Tonight is a chance to stack a cleaner outing against a Mariners lineup that has been productive but not overwhelming on the road.
