‘Marshals’ Season 2 Main Cast
Here’s a closer look at the main cast and characters returning for Marshals Season 2:
Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton
Known from: Yellowstone, Fifty Shades of Grey, American Sniper, The Magnificent Seven, Taken 2
Luke Grimes reprises his role as Kayce Dutton, the youngest son of John Dutton and a former Navy SEAL. Throughout Yellowstone, Kayce struggled to balance his loyalty to the Dutton family with his own moral compass, often finding himself at odds with his family. Kayce is one of the few members of the Dutton family willing to challenge the family’s decisions when they conflict with his own sense of right and wrong. His military background has made him a skilled fighter and natural leader, willing to put himself in danger for the people around him.
Following the events of Yellowstone, Kayce and his sister Beth sold the family’s ranch to Thomas Rainwater and the Broken Rock Reservation, allowing Kayce to build a new life with his wife, Monica, and their son, Tate. However, tragedy struck when Monica died of cancer, leaving Kayce to raise their son alone.
Now working as a U.S. Marshal in Montana, Kayce puts his military training and knowledge of the region to work tracking down dangerous criminals. As he adjusts to life without Monica, he must balance the risks of his new career with his responsibilities as a single father.
Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin
Known from: Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Invitation, The Odyssey, Upgrade, Big Sky
Logan Marshall-Green plays Pete “Cal” Calvin, the leader of the U.S. Marshals team and Kayce Dutton’s former commanding officer during their time as Navy SEALs. The two served together on Bravo Team, where a mission in Afghanistan ended in tragedy after a fellow SEAL, Roner, was killed. During the mission, another team member falsely reported that Roner had already died, leaving him behind while he was still alive and fighting. When Cal discovered the truth, he removed the responsible soldier from the team, but the incident continued to weigh on him years later.
After leaving the military, Cal joined the U.S. Marshals Service in Montana, eventually recruiting Kayce to join his team. Their shared history gives them a strong foundation of trust, though their working relationship isn’t without its challenges.
In Season 2, Cal faces a personal battle after being diagnosed with a Pancoast tumor, a rare form of lung cancer. Cal must balance his health struggles with the demands of leading the U.S. Marshals team.
Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner
Known from: Aquamarine, John Tucker Must Die, 9-1-1, The Uninvited, The Grudge 2
Arielle Kebbel plays Belle Skinner, another member of Calvin’s U.S. Marshal task force working alongside Kayce Dutton. Confident and outspoken, Belle isn’t afraid to speak her mind or challenge her colleagues’ decisions when she has an opinion. Despite her tough exterior, she cares deeply about the others on the team and has proven herself to be reliable in a crisis.
Outside of work, Belle’s personal life is becoming more and more complicated. With her marriage on the rocks, she finds herself developing romantic feelings for Pete Calvin. The growing tension between the two threatens to blur professional boundaries and further complicate her already strained marriage.
Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz
Known from: American Horror Story, Pulse, Our Little Secret, Mayor of Kingstown
Ash Santos plays Andrea Cruz, a skilled and determined U.S. Marshal originally from the Bronx, New York. Before joining Cal’s team in Montana, she served as a U.S. Marshal in Washington, D.C. Her ties to law enforcement run far and deep, as her father, Hector Cruz, was an NYPD officer, but he was killed in the line of duty many years ago.
Andrea’s experience in law enforcement makes her a vital member of the team, particularly as Cal’s health begins to affect his ability to lead. With Cal undergoing treatment for his cancer diagnosis, Andrea steps up to share leadership responsibilities, helping keep the unit running and managing the demands of their ongoing investigations.
Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle
Known from: Killers of the Flower Moon, The Son, Ransom Canyon, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials
Tatanka Means plays Miles Kittle, a Native American U.S. Marshal and member of Cal’s team in Montana. With deep ties to the region and its tribal communities, Miles brings valuable local knowledge and a unique perspective to the unit’s investigations. His understanding of the communities they serve makes him an important part of the team, particularly when cases involve the state’s reservations.
Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton
Known from: Yellowstone, Lifeline, This is Us
Brecken Merrill reprises his role as Tate Dutton, the teenage son of Kayce Dutton and Monica Long Dutton and the grandson of John Dutton. Growing up on the Yellowstone Ranch, Tate was exposed to the family’s convoluted history and the dangers that came with being a Dutton. Despite his young age, he experienced his fair share of traumatic events, including being kidnapped by enemies of the family.
Following the events of Yellowstone and the loss of his mother, Tate is adjusting to life with his father as they attempt to move forward together. With Kayce’s dangerous new career frequently pulling him away from home, their father-son relationship remains an important part of the series as Tate continues growing up.
Mo Brings Plenty as Mo
Known from: Yellowstone, Jurassic World: Dominion, The American West, Cowboys & Aliens
Mo Brings Plenty reprises his role as Mo, a trusted adviser, personal bodyguard and head of security for Thomas Rainwater, the chairman of the Broken Rock Reservation. A former Army soldier and skilled marksman, Mo has a tragic past, having lost his mother to a violent attack when he was just a baby. Throughout Yellowstone, he served as Rainwater’s right-hand man, helping protect the reservation and its people while maintaining a deep respect for tribal traditions.
Despite the complicated history between the Dutton family and Broken Rock, Mo became a trusted ally of the Duttons, frequently assisting them during dangerous situations. Following the sale of the Yellowstone Ranch to the reservation, he helped preserve the family’s cemetery as the ranch’s buildings were dismantled.
In Marshals, Mo continues working alongside Kayce, assisting with investigations involving the reservation. His involvement becomes particularly personal when a contaminated mine is linked to illnesses in the community.
Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater
Known from: Twilight, Yellowstone, Wind River, Dark Matter, Siren, Animal Kingdom
Gil Birmingham reprises his role as Thomas Rainwater, the chairman of the Broken Rock Reservation and a longtime figure in the Yellowstone universe. Throughout the original series, Rainwater fought to reclaim land historically belonging to his people, frequently clashing with John Dutton over ownership of the Yellowstone Ranch. Despite their differences, the two shared a desire to protect the land from outside development.
By the end of Yellowstone, Rainwater finally achieved his longtime goal when Kayce and Beth sold the family’s ranch to the Broken Rock Reservation. The agreement returned the land to tribal ownership, with Rainwater committed to preserving it for future generations.
In Marshals, Rainwater continues leading the reservation while maintaining his relationship with Kayce and the U.S. Marshals team. However, his leadership faces new challenges as a younger generation questions his decisions and pushes for a different direction. With threats against his life adding to the growing tensions, Rainwater must navigate both the political and personal challenges of protecting his community.
