Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen is a Netflix crime comedy series inspired by his 2019 film of the same name. The series follows Eddie Horniman, a duke who inherits his family estate and discovers a massive cannabis operation hidden beneath it, bringing him into business with the Glass crime family.
Season 2 picks up a year later as Eddie and Susie Glass, played by Theo James and Kaya Scodelario, work to expand their operation beyond the English countryside and into Italy. Daniel Ings, Ray Winstone and Giancarlo Esposito return alongside new cast members including Sergio Castellitto, Michele Morrone, Hugh Bonneville and others. Netflix has also already greenlit Season 3, so Eddie and Susie’s story isn’t ending here.

What is ‘The Gentlemen’ About?
The Gentlemen follows Eddie Horniman, a former Army officer who unexpectedly inherits the Halstead dukedom and, along with it, a massive cannabis operation his late father let the Glass crime family run beneath the estate. Partnered, often reluctantly, with Susie Glass, who manages the business while her father serves time in prison, Eddie learns that the aristocracy and the underworld have always been closer than either likes to admit. While he initially wanted to get out of the business, by the end of Season 1, he and Susie have formed an uneasy partnership.
Season 2 picks up a year later as Eddie and Susie work to expand the enterprise abroad, and that ambition drags them to Italy, where a foothold in the local underworld means dealing with people far less polite than the English gentry. As Bobby Glass makes calls from prison that seem increasingly unsound, the two have to decide whether to stay loyal or make a move of their own.

Theo James as Eddie Horniman
Known For: The White Lotus, Divergent, Sanditon
Eddie Horniman is the 13th Duke of Halstead and the second son of the Duke of Halstead, who originally had no expectation of inheriting the family title. After serving in the British Army, Eddie returns home after his father dies and discovers that the family estate has become home to a sprawling cannabis operation. He initially wants to get his family out of the business, but his strategic mind and ability to stay calm under immense pressure make him surprisingly well suited to the criminal world.
By Season 2, Eddie has fully embraced the possibilities of being both an aristocrat and a criminal. As he expands the business into Italy, his ambitions also begin moving into the world of the legitimate establishment, where he sees new opportunities for power and influence. His growing confidence also starts to change his relationship with Susie, who begins to wonder whether the steady Eddie she once knew is becoming something more volatile.
Theo James rose to fame as Four in the Divergent films before starring as Cameron Sullivan in Season 2 of HBO’s The White Lotus, earning an Emmy Award nomination for the role. He has also starred in Sanditon and The Time Traveler’s Wife.
Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass
Known For: Skins, The Maze Runner, Crawl
Susie Glass runs the day-to-day operations of her father Bobby’s criminal empire. In Season 1, she initially butted heads with Eddie after revealing the cannabis operation beneath his family estate, but the two eventually became a formidable team and ended the season running the business side by side as partners.
Season 2 finds Susie questioning how long she wants to remain under her father’s control. She remains fiercely loyal to her family, but as the operation expands, she’s also considering whether she could branch out and build something of her own. Her partnership with Eddie is changing, too, as she begins to see that his ambitions may be taking him in a more dangerous direction.
Kaya Scodelario first became known for playing Effy Stonem on the British series Skins. She later starred as Teresa in The Maze Runner films, led the horror thriller Crawl and appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Daniel Ings as Freddy Horniman
Known For: Lovesick, The Crown, Sex Education
Freddy is Eddie’s older brother and was once the heir apparent to the Halstead estate. His years of partying and disastrous business ventures helped explain why their father ultimately left the title to Eddie instead. In Season 1, Freddy often found himself creating problems that Eddie had to solve, particularly after his reckless decisions left him in serious debt.
Season 2 finds Freddy in a different state of mind. After spending much of the first season as an unpredictable liability, he returns considerably more serious as he adjusts to his brother’s growing authority and the family’s increasingly complicated position.
Daniel Ings is best known for playing Luke Curran in Lovesick and Mike Parker in The Crown. He has also appeared in Sex Education, Black Mirror and The Woman in Cabin 10.
Ray Winstone as Bobby Glass
Known For: Sexy Beast, The Departed, Black Widow
Bobby Glass is the head of the Glass family and Susie’s father. Although he is serving time in prison, he remains involved in the family business and continues to influence its direction from behind bars. At the end of Season 1, Eddie, Susie and Bobby had effectively become co-owners of the Glasses’ massive cannabis empire.
In Season 2, the operation has expanded beyond England, but Bobby takes a more cautious view of how quickly the empire should grow. His ambitions and Eddie’s plans don’t always align, creating new tension within the family as Eddie and Susie decide how far they’re willing to go.
Ray Winstone has starred in films including Sexy Beast, The Departed and Black Widow. His other credits include Beowulf and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Giancarlo Esposito as Uncle Stan
Known For: Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Mandalorian
Stanley Johnston, known as Uncle Stan, is an ultra-wealthy American with a fascination for the history, architecture and traditions of the British aristocracy. After becoming involved in Eddie’s world in Season 1, Stan takes a growing interest in the young duke and sees possibilities in him that others don’t.
In Season 2, Stan’s interest in Eddie develops further as Eddie pursues greater influence within both the criminal world and the British establishment. His fascination with Eddie adds another layer to the duke’s growing ambitions.
Giancarlo Esposito is best known for playing Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, earning three Emmy nominations for his performances as the character. He also played Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian and has appeared in The Boys, The Usual Suspects and Captain America: Brave New World.
Joely Richardson as Lady Sabrina
Known For: Nip/Tuck, The Tudors, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Lady Sabrina is Eddie and Freddy’s mother and the Dowager Duchess of Halstead. She appears to be a proper member of the British aristocracy, but Season 1 revealed a more complicated past than her polished image suggests.
Season 2 reveals more about Sabrina’s history, including her past affair with Geoff Seacombe, the family’s longtime gamekeeper. Geoff is Charly’s biological father, adding another layer to the Horniman family’s already complicated history.
Joely Richardson starred as Julia McNamara in Nip/Tuck and played Catherine Parr in The Tudors. She has also appeared in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Rook and Netflix’s Renegade Nell.
Vinnie Jones as Geoff Seacombe
Known For: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, X-Men: The Last Stand
Geoff Seacombe is the longtime gamekeeper of Halstead Manor and one of the Horniman family’s most loyal allies. He knows the estate inside and out and has a deep devotion to the family, particularly to the land and the people he has spent years protecting. He’s also Charly’s biological father, following a secret affair with Lady Sabrina.
Season 2 reveals more about Geoff’s personal history and his relationship with Sabrina. His loyalty remains central to the character as new threats put the Horniman family and the estate at risk.
Vinnie Jones began his acting career in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and went on to appear in Snatch and X-Men: The Last Stand, where he played Juggernaut. Before acting, Jones was a professional footballer in England.
Jasmine Blackborow as Charly Horniman
Known For: Shadow and Bone, Marie Antoinette
Lady Charlotte “Charly” Horniman is Eddie’s adventurous, liberal-minded younger sister and, by his own reckoning, his favorite sibling. She returned to Halstead pregnant in Season 1 and worked out on her own that Geoff Seacombe, not the late Duke, is her biological father, a truth Geoff quietly confirmed.
Season 2 finds her settled into life as a doting mother to baby Tarquin, whose father is Nanny, the King’s equerry. Charly remains deeply embedded in the family’s orbit and one of Eddie’s closest allies, even as his ambitions pull the Hornimans further into dangerous territory.
Jasmine Blackborow is a New Zealand actor whose credits include Netflix’s Shadow and Bone and the period drama Marie Antoinette.

Hugh Bonneville as Lord Hawthorne

Lord Hawthorne is a well-connected member of the House of Lords and a familiar face within the aristocratic circles Eddie has known his entire life. As Eddie’s ambitions expand, Hawthorne offers him access to a different kind of power through the British establishment.
Hawthorne is willing to work with criminals, but only on his own terms, making him both a potential ally and an obstacle for Eddie. His connection to Eddie gives the young duke another path toward the influence he’s beginning to pursue.
Hugh Bonneville is best known for playing Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham, in Downton Abbey. He has also starred as Mr. Brown in the Paddington films and appeared in Notting Hill.
Sergio Castellitto as Marco Moretti
Known For: The Star Maker, Conclave
Marco Moretti is the head of an Italian Mafia crime family and one of the most powerful figures Eddie and Susie encounter as they expand into Northern Italy. Once the local Mafia discovers what the pair are doing, Marco becomes a major presence in their new criminal landscape.
Powerful, dangerous and highly influential, Marco is the kind of figure whose approval can take you far, but crossing him comes with serious consequences.

Michele Morrone as Cico Maldini

Cico Maldini is Bella’s husband and a small-time Italian criminal with a deep network of contacts. Eddie and Susie rely on him as their local fixer and guide as they navigate an unfamiliar criminal landscape in Northern Italy.
Cico is useful because he knows the people and terrain Eddie and Susie need to navigate, but he’s not necessarily trustworthy, making him another potential complication for the pair as they establish themselves in Italy.
Michele Morrone became internationally known after starring as Massimo in Netflix’s 365 Days trilogy. He has also appeared in Another Simple Favor and The Housemaid.
Benjamin Clémentine as Nanny
Known For: Dune, Blitz
Nanny is a former soldier who now serves as equerry to the King. He’s also the father of Charly’s son, Tarquin, giving him a personal connection to the Horniman family beyond his work in the royal household.
Benjamin Clémentine is a British musician, poet and actor who won the Mercury Prize for his debut album At Least for Now. He has also appeared in Dune and Blitz.
Maya Jama as Aisha

Maya Jama joins Season 2 as Aisha, a fixer who becomes part of Eddie and Susie’s increasingly complicated world. Jama is best known for her work as a British television presenter and host of Love Island UK.
Chris Eubank Jr. as Organ John
Known For: Professional boxing, IBO world titles
Professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr. makes his acting debut as Organ John, a boxer and enforcer who becomes part of Eddie and Susie’s expanding world.
Eubank Jr. is the son of former world champion Chris Eubank and has competed at both middleweight and super-middleweight during his professional career.
