What is ‘Jack Ryan: Ghost War’ About?
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War finds Jack out of the game, getting used to civilian life after years in the Central Intelligence Agency. But one day, his old boss James Greer (Wendell Pierce) comes knocking. There’s a mission, and it’s the biggest mission of Ryan’s career.
A Black Ops unit of assassins that Greer himself shut down is now back and posing a threat to leaders around the world.
Ryan is joined by Emma Marlowe, a more than capable operative and MI6 agent who’s the British parallel of Ryan and is out to destroy Starling too.
Cast and Characters of ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War’
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War reunites several major players from the hit Amazon Prime Video series while introducing new characters who expand the franchise’s global scope. Led once again by John Krasinski, the film brings together CIA operatives, international agents and new enemies for the biggest Jack Ryan story yet.
John Krasinski as Jack Ryan

John Krasinski returns as Jack Ryan, the reluctant hero at the center of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War. A former US Marine and CIA analyst turned field operative, Ryan’s strict moral compass and grounded personality set him apart from traditional action heroes. Armed with a Ph.D. in economics and sharp analytical instincts, Ryan combines intelligence gathering with real-world field experience, making him uniquely effective in situations like these.
At the start of Ghost War, Ryan has stepped away from intelligence work and is attempting to build a quieter life after years of chaos and sacrifice. But when James Greer approaches him about a rogue Black Ops organization known as Starling, Ryan is pulled back in. As attacks escalate around the world, Greer believes there is only one person capable of stopping the threat: Jack Ryan.
Ryan is also joined by Mike November, a former CIA station chief in Venezuela who has become Ryan’s right-hand man.
You know John Krasinski from The Office, A Quiet Place and IF.
Wendell Pierce as James Greer

Wendell Pierce reprises his role as James Greer, Ryan’s longtime mentor and one of the CIA’s most respected veterans. He’s savvy and disciplined, allowing him to rise through the agency throughout the television series after assignments in Karachi, Moscow and Venezuela (where he meets Mike November), eventually becoming deputy director of the CIA.
Beneath his hardened exterior, though, he is a man grappling with sacrifice and regret, specifically around how his dedication to the job hurt his personal life and relationships.
In Ghost War, Greer faces a personal reckoning when Starling — a covert assassination unit he once helped dismantle — resurfaces years later. Reluctant to drag Ryan back into the world he left behind, Greer ultimately realizes the scale of the threat demands his best operative.
You know Wendell Pierce from The Wire, Selma and Elsbeth.
Michael Kelly as Mike November

Michael Kelly returns as Mike November, the sharp-witted and highly experienced former CIA station chief who has become one of Jack Ryan’s most dependable allies. Quick to adapt and calm under pressure, Mike is the kind of operative who can navigate chaos with a mix of instinct and charm. His more laid-back personality often contrasts with Ryan’s intensity and Greer’s no-nonsense leadership, making him one of the franchise’s most relatable characters.
In Ghost War, Greer recruits Mike to help stop Starling and the escalating wave of global attacks connected to the rogue organization. His experience in covert operations and ability to think quickly in unpredictable situations make him an essential member of the team.
You know Michael Kelly from House of Cards, Chronicle and Man of Steel.
Sienna Miller as Emma Marlowe

One of the film’s biggest new additions is Sienna Miller as Emma Marlowe, an MI6 operative investigating the same conspiracy as Ryan.
Emma first crosses paths with Ryan during a tense encounter that quickly establishes her as both an equal and a formidable ally. Intelligent, highly trained and relentless in the field, Emma becomes a key member of the team working to bring down Starling.
You know Sienna Miller from American Sniper, Burnt and Factory Girl.
Betty Gabriel as Elizabeth Wright

Betty Gabriel reprises her role as Elizabeth Wright, the director of the CIA. She is strategic and composed, making her highly respected within the intelligence community.
In Ghost War, she gives Greer the approval to assemble a specialized team capable of stopping Starling before the rogue organization escalates its attacks even further.
You know Betty Gabriel from Get Out, Upgrade and Defending Jacob.
