Sycamores quarterback Elijah Owens completed 23 of 32 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns in that opener though a costly interception was part of the story. Running back Aaron Ball carried the ball 10 times for 33 yards giving Indiana State a complementary run threat alongside Owens’ arm. Defensive lineman Peter Eyabi already has a sack on his ledger a sign of the pressure the Sycamores front hopes to generate again.
Kickoff at Ross-Ade Stadium is set for 7:00 PM ET with Purdue debuting its own roster in front of the home crowd.

Indiana State
Elijah Owens — QB. The Sycamores’ signal caller opened the season by completing 23 of 32 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns though he also threw an interception that Purdue’s defense will look to replicate. His accuracy through the air gives Indiana State a downfield threat it will lean on in West Lafayette.
Complementing Owens in the backfield, Aaron Ball — RB, carried 10 times for 33 yards in the opener. He’ll need to find more room to run against a Big Ten front on the road but he gives Indiana State’s offense a second dimension beyond the pass.
Peter Eyabi — DL. The Indiana State lineman posted a sack in the season opener evidence of the pressure package the Sycamores hope to bring to West Lafayette. If he gets home early against Purdue’s line it could set the tone for the Boilermakers’ first possession of the year.
