Players to Watch: Edmonton Oilers vs. Anaheim Ducks

Edmonton Oilers

Leon Draisaitl — Center. 97 points (35G, 62A) in 65 regular season games. Draisaitl has been working back from a lower-body injury and his availability for Game 3 is uncertain, but when healthy he is one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NHL and transforms Edmonton’s attack.

Matt Savoie — Forward. Savoie posted a hat trick in the final game of the regular season and recorded four points in his last two games entering the playoffs. His recent form gives the Oilers an emerging offensive option as this series shifts to Anaheim.

Anaheim Ducks

Cutter Gauthier — Forward. 69 points (41G, 28A) in 76 regular season games. Gauthier has fully arrived as the premier sniper for the Ducks, becoming just the second player in franchise history to hit the 40-goal mark before age 23. His lethal power-play release remains Anaheim’s greatest equalizer, and with the series moving to the Honda Center, the Ducks will lean heavily on his ability to finish in high-danger situations.

Leo Carlsson — Center. 67 points (29G, 38A) in 70 regular season games. The sophomore sensation has been on a tear down the stretch, recording four goals in his final five games of the regular season. Carlsson’s evolution into a true number-one center has stabilized the Ducks’ top six, and his vision will be vital in navigating Edmonton’s aggressive neutral-zone pressure as Anaheim looks to reclaim momentum in Game 3.
