What’s the Plot of ‘Coyote vs. Acme’?
Coyote vs. Acme follows the legal battle Wile E. Coyote launches against the Acme Corporation after the company’s products repeatedly malfunction during his attempts to catch Road Runner.
Wile E. turns to billboard attorney Kevin Avery, who needs a win to keep his career afloat. The two form a strong bond in their pursuit of justice against the world’s most powerful corporation.
The film is steeped in Looney Tunes lore and is based on the early 90s New Yorker article of the same name. It is already drawing comparisons to a classic in the animation industry, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, with its grounded approach to an absurdly silly premise.
‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Live-Action Cast and Character Guide
Coyote vs. Acme features a strong lineup of live-action performers and accomplished voice actors. First up are the actors appearing on screen.
Will Forte as Kevin Avery
Known for: Saturday Night Live, The Last Man on Earth and MacGruber
Will Forte is Kevin, a down-and-out billboard attorney who becomes Wile E. Coyote’s lawyer in Coyote vs. Acme. The character is named after Looney Tunes animator Tex Avery.
Forte became one of the film’s most vocal supporters after Warner Bros. shelved it, publicly championing its release and praising the work of its cast and crew. His talent for offbeat humor and exaggerated physical comedy also makes him a natural fit for the Looney Tunes universe.
Lana Condor as Paige Avery
Known for: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Deadly Class and X-Men: Apocalypse
Lana Condor plays Paige, who is Kevin’s niece and intern. Inspired by her uncle’s case against Acme, Inc., she joins the legal team to help take on the powerful corporation.
John Cena as Buddy Crane
Known for: WWE, Peacemaker and F9 The Fast Saga
Buddy Crane is the Acme Corporation’s lead attorney and heads the firm where Kevin once worked, giving this case a personal edge on top of the monumental stakes.
Tone Bell as Sal Maltese

Sal is Kevin’s law partner and an ally in Wile E. Coyote’s case against Acme. The character is named after longtime Looney Tunes screenwriter Michael Maltese.
Luis Guzmán as the Judge
Known for: Traffic, Boogie Nights and Narcos: Mexico
Luis Guzmán plays the judge overseeing the trial between Wile E. Coyote and the Acme Corporation. It’s one of the biggest cases of his career, and he’s got a cartoon gavel to prove it.
Martha Kelly as Dottie Jones
Known for: Baskets, Euphoria and Flamin’ Hot
Dottie is Kevin’s office assistant and another ally in Wile E. Coyote’s case against Acme. The character’s last name pays tribute to legendary Looney Tunes animator Chuck Jones.
P.J. Byrne as Bill Pellicano
Known for: The Wolf of Wall Street, Horrible Bosses and The End of Oak Street
Bill is an Acme Corporation lawyer and one of Buddy Crane’s direct reports.
‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Voice Cast Guide
Coyote vs. Acme brings live-action performers together with some of the most recognizable characters in animation. Although Wile E. Coyote is the film’s star, he does not have a credited voice actor. Director Dave Green chose to keep Wile E. nonverbal, allowing him to communicate through physical comedy, facial expressions and written signs. Here are the performers behind the film’s other animated characters.
Eric Bauza as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Porky Pig, Pepé Le Pew and Foghorn Leghorn
Known for: Looney Tunes Cartoons, Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling and Danger Mouse
Bugs, Daffy, Tweety and Porky all become embroiled in the case, while Foghorn Leghorn takes a prominent role on Acme’s side of the legal battle.
The legendary Bauza voices several of the Looney Tunes franchise’s most iconic characters in Coyote vs. Acme, with some of his roles being kept secret to avoid spoilers. Bauza is one of the most prominent voice actors of the 21st Century and has been the engine of the Looney Tunes franchise for over a decade.
Candi Milo as Granny
Known for: Animaniacs, Johnny Bravo and Danny Phantom
Granny is another victim of Acme Corporation’s faulty products.
Jim Cummings as the Tasmanian Devil
Known for: Winnie the Pooh, DuckTales and Darkwing Duck
Cummings provides the maniacal character’s vocal effects. Taz is called to the stand to testify as another frequent victim of Acme’s ineptitude.
