Boise State (0-0) at No. 2 Oregon (0-0) — Game Preview

Boise State opens its season on the road against No. 2 Oregon at Autzen Stadium on September 5, 2026, with both teams still sitting at 0-0.

The Ducks enter the year as one of the top teams in the Big Ten and a projected College Football Playoff contender, giving this non-conference opener an early measuring-stick feel for both programs. Oregon returns quarterback Dante Moore, who opted to come back to Eugene rather than enter the NFL Draft, where he was projected as an early pick after leading the Ducks through a playoff run a year ago.

Boise State counters with fifth-year senior Maddux Madsen, its returning starting quarterback, leading an offense that also brings back running back Dylan Riley and wide receiver Ben Ford. Up front, Oregon’s defense is anchored by returning starters Bear Alexander and Matayo Uiagalelei, while Boise State counters with defensive back Jaden Mickey and edge rusher Jayden Virgin-Morgan leading its own returning unit. With no 2026 results yet on either side, the opener doubles as an early signal of how each program’s returning talent holds up against ranked competition.
