Arizona Diamondbacks
Gabriel Moreno — C. Moreno is putting together a strong season behind the plate, hitting .300 with 12 home runs and 70 RBIs. His .378 on-base percentage and .465 slugging mark give Arizona steady production from the catcher spot night after night.
Nolan Arenado — 3B. At third base, Arenado has racked up 22 home runs and 68 RBIs this season, doing his usual damage from the middle of the Arizona order. His .234 average is modest, but a .421 slugging percentage reflects the extra-base pop that keeps him a fixture in this lineup.
Ketel Marte — 2B. Marte brings equal thump from the other side of the infield, matching Arenado’s home run total with 22 of his own to go with 69 RBIs and a .251 average. His .445 slugging percentage and .319 on-base rate make him one more threat in an Arizona lineup that runs deep.
Kansas City Royals
Salvador Perez — DH. Perez has been a steady power source for Kansas City, driving in 71 runs with 19 home runs from the DH spot. His .230 average is well below his career norms, but the Royals continue to lean on him in the middle of the order for run production.
Bobby Witt Jr. — SS. Witt Jr. plays shortstop and hits from the top of the Kansas City lineup, batting .280 with 17 home runs, 51 RBIs and a .359 on-base percentage this season. His .448 slugging percentage adds pop to go with the average, a combination that has made him one of the more complete bats in this Royals lineup.
Michael Massey — 2B. Massey has quietly turned in a solid season at second base, batting .278 with 11 home runs and 45 RBIs. His .314 on-base percentage and .441 slugging mark make him a dependable presence behind Kansas City’s bigger names in the order.
