The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson

TVPG|Docudrama|1990
In 1944, future baseball great Jackie Robinson (Andre Braugher) is serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. army at Fort Hood, in Texas. When Robinson is asked to sit in the back of an unsegregated army bus, and refuses, his superiors request that Robinson be court-martialed. With help from fellow athletic legend and military man Joe Louis (Stan Shaw), as well as his sympathetic mother (Ruby Dee), Robinson takes a giant step toward overcoming the institutionalized racism of the era.
