Buddha

Prince Siddhartha (Kojiro Hongo) leads a grand, royal lifestyle and eventually marries the beautiful Princess Yashodara (Charito Solis). But the rest of the nearby population lives in squalor, a fact that startles and haunts Siddhartha, causing him to renounce his throne and embark on a spiritual journey. A tragedy, caused by the vindictive monk Devadatta (Shintarô Katsu), pushes Yashodara to suicide, but Siddhartha remains undeterred on his quest toward enlightenment.
