Accidents Will Happen

Straight-arrow insurance investigator Eric Gregg (Ronald Reagan) loses his job when his avaricious wife, Nona (Sheila Bromley), gets mixed up with a scam involving a shady loan company that Eric has been investigating. Divorced and embittered, he teams up with cigarette girl Patricia Carmody (Gloria Blondell) to run an insurance-fraud scheme of his own. Their success attracts the attention of Nona's new beau, the head of the corrupt loan firm (Addison Richards).
