Dallas brings a 19-11 record into CareFirst Arena to face a Washington team sitting at 16-12. The Wings put up 89.2 points per game while the Mystics average 81.2, but Washington answers by leading the WNBA in rebounding at 37.3 boards a night. Paige Bueckers drives most of what Dallas does, scoring 20.3 points per game on 50.9% shooting with 5.9 assists, and she works inside an offense that ranks second in the league at 22.3 assists per game.

Players to Watch: Dallas Wings vs. Washington Mystics
Dallas Wings
Paige Bueckers — G. Bueckers is scoring 20.3 points per game on 50.9% from the floor while handing out 5.9 assists, which makes her the hub of nearly everything Dallas runs in the halfcourt. She converts 84.8% of her free throws and keeps the ball clean at 2.1 turnovers across 33.4 minutes a night. That combination of volume and efficiency is rare among the guards in this matchup.
Jessica Shepard — F. Rebounding is only part of what Shepard gives the Wings, even at 11.8 per game. She shoots 58.2% from the field, chips in 14.7 points and distributes 5.4 assists in 33.2 minutes, an unusual mix for a forward who works this close to the rim. Of those 11.8 rebounds, 8.6 come on the defensive end and 3.2 on the offensive glass.
Arike Ogunbowale — G. Dallas does not lean on one guard. Ogunbowale averages 15.1 points and 3.1 assists across 29.7 minutes and shoots 35.0% from three. Her 39.3% overall field-goal mark is modest, though she gives it back at the line, where she converts 88.7%.
Washington Mystics
Sonia Citron — G. The Mystics’ leading scorer at 17.3 points per game, Citron logs 33.8 minutes a night and shoots 45.6% from the floor. Her 89.6% at the free-throw line edges Ogunbowale’s 88.7% for the best mark in the game, which matters in a matchup where possessions are likely to be tight. She also averages 3.8 assists.
Shakira Austin — C. Austin anchors the Washington interior with 9.4 rebounds and 15.5 points per game on 46.6% shooting. She adds 1.3 blocks a night, and 7.5 of those rebounds arrive on the defensive end, which is the half of the floor where the Mystics do their best work.
Kiki Iriafen — F. Second on the roster in rebounding at 9.2 per game, Iriafen also scores 15.3 points on 49.0% shooting in 28.1 minutes. Her 2.9 offensive rebounds per game trail only Shepard’s 3.2 in this matchup and feed the second chances that keep Washington first in the league on the glass.
