Josh Jung — 3B. Jung is hitting .308 with a .362 on-base percentage and .481 slugging across the season’s first two months. His mix of contact and extra-base ability gives Texas one of its top infield bats while Seager and Langford are on the IL.

Jake Burger — 1B. Burger has provided power at first base, with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs while batting .238 on the year. The average is modest, but the home run and RBI totals make him one of Texas’ key run-producing options.

MacKenzie Gore — SP. Tonight’s starter takes the ball with a 3.96 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and 65 strikeouts over 61.1 innings, sitting at 4-4. His strikeout ability from the left side gives Texas an important matchup piece against a Cardinals lineup hitting .239 as a team.

St. Louis Cardinals

Jordan Walker — RF. Walker leads the Cardinals with 15 home runs and 44 RBIs while hitting .283, giving St. Louis its top power bat in right field. His production has been central to a Cardinals lineup that relies on him for extra-base impact.

Alec Burleson — 1B. Burleson’s .283 average, .349 OBP and .438 slugging mark give the Cardinals a steady left-handed bat. His ability to reach base and add gap power makes him a useful matchup piece against Gore.

Andre Pallante — SP. Pallante carries a 4.19 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP into the start, with a 5-4 record and 46 strikeouts across 58.0 innings. Against a Rangers offense hitting .236, he will look to limit traffic and keep the game manageable at home.
