SEC Baseball Tournament Overview

The SEC Baseball Tournament marks the end of the regular season and the official start of the NCAA postseason. Following the SEC baseball regular season schedule, the conference’s top teams head to Hoover, Alabama to compete for the SEC Tournament championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Tournament seeding is determined by each team’s record during SEC conference play, making every regular season series critical in the race for postseason positioning. With perennial national contenders, the SEC Baseball Tournament consistently features some of the most competitive games in college baseball.

NCAA Baseball Tournament & Regionals Overview

After the SEC Tournament concludes, the NCAA Baseball Tournament begins with a 64-team field competing for a national championship. The postseason opens with NCAA Regionals, where teams are placed into four-team double-elimination brackets hosted at campus sites around the country.

Regional winners advance to the Super Regionals, a best-of-three series that determines the final eight teams headed to Omaha.

The SEC is expected to once again send multiple teams through the NCAA baseball postseason, with programs like Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU and Mississippi State all aiming for a trip to the College World Series.

College World Series

The final stage of the NCAA baseball postseason is the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The remaining eight teams compete in a double-elimination bracket at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, with the last two teams advancing to a best-of-three national championship series.
