The Padres and Brewers meet Thursday afternoon at American Family Field in a rubber match between two above-.500 National League teams. San Diego is scheduled to start Griffin Canning, who enters at 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in his third outing since returning from an Achilles injury. Milwaukee counters with Kyle Harrison, who enters at 3-1 with a 2.41 ERA. At the plate, Xander Bogaerts has supplied key production for San Diego with seven home runs and 23 RBI. For Milwaukee, Brice Turang has been one of the club’s top offensive contributors, batting .298 with a .422 OBP and .511 slugging percentage, while William Contreras has added 26 RBI from the middle of the order.
