‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Season 5 Cast
Here’s a look at the cast of Raising Kanan Season 5, along with where they left off in Season 4 (spoilers ahead).
Mekai Curtis as Kanan Stark
Kanan Stark is an ambitious young drug dealer whose rise eventually leads him to become one of the most feared figures in the Power universe.
At the end of Season 4, Kanan is overcome by grief and anger after learning that his girlfriend Krystal was killed. Convinced that his mother Raq is responsible for not only Krystal’s death, but also for the deaths of Famous and his own father, Kanan confronts her at gunpoint in the finale. The season ends on a cliffhanger as a gunshot rings out and the screen cuts to black.
Patina Miller as Raquel “Raq” Thomas
Raquel “Raq” Thomas is the queen pin of the Queens drug trade and Kanan’s mother. She runs her empire alongside her brothers Lou-Lou and Marvin.
In the Season 4 finale, Raq becomes increasingly frantic as the power struggle between her and Kanan reaches a breaking point. After learning that Kanan sought out Unique to potentially join forces against her, she is forced to confront the growing threat from within her own family. Her fate remains unknown after the shocking final scene.
London Brown as Marvin Thomas
Marvin is Kanan’s uncle and the brother of Raq and Lou-Lou. His character represents the push and pull of the drug game, as he tries to balance it with being a better father to his daughter Jukebox and a stabilizing force within the Thomas family.
Malcolm Mays as Louis “Lou-Lou” Thomas
Lou-Lou is Kanan and Jukebox’s uncle and the brother of Raq and Marvin. Though he has long dreamed of escaping the drug game for a career in music, he remains deeply tied to the Thomas family empire. With the discovery of rising rapper B-Rilla, Lou-Lou sees a new opportunity to finally turn his ambitions into reality.
Hailey Kilgore as LaVerne “Jukebox” Thomas
The youngest member of the Thomas family, Jukebox often serves as the emotional center of both the family and the series. While Kanan becomes convinced that Raq was responsible for Krystal’s death, Jukebox is skeptical, placing her at odds with her cousin’s growing paranoia.
Joey Bada$$ as Kadeem “Unique” Mathis
Raq’s longtime rival and former lover, Unique has become deeply entangled in the Thomas family’s conflicts. In the Season 4 finale, he further drives a wedge between Raq and Kanan by revealing to Raq that Kanan approached him about working against her. After Stefano is attacked by Phil Russo, Unique is given permission to do whatever is necessary to make things right.
Wendell Pierce as Ishmael “Snaps” Henry
A legend in the drug game, Snaps serves as both mentor and financier to Kanan, much to Raq’s frustration. At the end of Season 4, Snaps introduces Kanan to his nephew Branford, better known as Breeze — a pivotal moment that begins connecting the series to one of the most important figures in Power lore.
Erika Woods as Stephanie “Pop” Henry
Stephanie “Pop” Henry is also a respected veteran of the drug game and the wife of Southside legend Snaps. While Pop initially appeared to be the quieter half of the duo, Season 4 revealed another, more ruthless side to her. In fact, it was her secret orchestration of the murders of Famous and Krystal that helped set the stage for the explosive Thomas family conflict that will surely continue into Season 5.
Tony Danza as Stefano Marchetti
The godfather of New York’s Mafia Crime family, Stefano becomes an ally to the Thomas family when they take out his rival Sal Boselli. In the Season 4 finale, he is stabbed by his new rival Phil Russo, but survives. Following his recovery, Stefano tells Unique to take whatever action is necessary to settle the score, setting the stage for a potential war in Season 5.
Paul Ben-Victor as Phil Russo
The newest crime boss in New Jersey, Phil Russo quickly establishes himself as a major threat to the Thomas family and their allies. In the Season 4 finale, he stabs Stefano Marchetti and leaves him for dead as punishment for aligning himself with Raq. Although Stefano survives, Phil’s actions are expected to put a massive target on his back in Season 5.
Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine as Bryan “B-Rilla” Rillins
B-Rilla is a young rapper with a violent streak whose music catches the attention of Kanan’s uncle, Lou-Lou Thomas. His natural talent and ambition make him one of the most promising new figures in Queens’ hip-hop scene, but his criminal history threatens to complicate his path to success.
Brandon Espinoza as Joseph Garcia
An NYPD detective who has spent years investigating the Thomas family and their criminal empire, Garcia is determined to finish what he started. As Kanan’s feud with Raq grows, he remains a persistent threat to the family and their associates, bringing increased law enforcement pressure to the streets.
