The New York Mets bring a 33-41 record into Citizens Bank Park to face the 40-34 Philadelphia Phillies, two clubs separated by seven games in the standings but closer than that at the plate. The Phillies have the louder power profile, sitting at 93 home runs as a team against 77 for the Mets, while New York holds a thin edge in team batting average at .232 to Philadelphia’s .229. On the Philadelphia side, Kyle Schwarber leads the way with 25 home runs and 43 RBIs as the middle-of-the-order threat the Mets pitching staff has to plan around. Bryce Harper adds another problem at 15 home runs and a team-high 40 RBIs, his .482 slugging percentage outpacing every regular in the building. New York will be without shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is on the 10-day injured list with a left calf strain.

Players to Watch: New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies

New York Mets

Juan Soto — LF. Soto is hitting .297 with 15 home runs and 36 RBIs as the centerpiece of the New York lineup. His .393 on-base percentage pairs with a .555 slugging mark, the kind of two-way production that forces pitchers to work around him.

Bo Bichette — 3B. Bichette leads the Mets with 42 RBIs while batting .254 with 8 home runs from the heart of the order. He has been the steadier run producer alongside Soto, turning contact into runs more often than his average suggests.

Marcus Semien — 2B. Semien brings 9 home runs and 27 RBIs to the bottom of the order despite a .221 average. His pop from the second-base spot gives the Mets a secondary power source behind Soto and Bichette.

Philadelphia Phillies

Kyle Schwarber — DH. Schwarber sets the tone for the Philadelphia offense with 25 home runs and 43 RBIs, both team highs. Even at a .245 average he remains the swing the Mets staff most needs to neutralize.

Bryce Harper — 1B. Harper is hitting .251 with 15 home runs and a team-leading 40 RBIs, and his .362 on-base percentage keeps him on base ahead of the cleanup spots. A .482 slugging percentage marks him as the most complete bat in the Philadelphia order.

Brandon Marsh — LF. Marsh paces the Phillies regulars with a .323 average, the contact piece in a lineup built on power. His .357 on-base percentage and .500 slugging percentage make him a difficult out at the top of the order.
