‘Mistletoe Murders’ Season 3 Cast
Here’s a look at the confirmed cast of Mistletoe Murders Season 3:
Spoiler warning: The following cast guide contains spoilers for the first two seasons of Mistletoe Murders.
Sarah Drew as Emily Lane
Known from: Grey’s Anatomy, Radio, Moms’ Night Out, Supernatural, Cruel Summer, Glee
Sarah Drew stars as Emily Lane, the charming, seemingly innocent owner of Under the Mistletoe, a year-round Christmas shop in Fletcher’s Grove. Behind her friendly and approachable demeanor is a resourceful and observant woman who moved to Fletcher’s Grove alone, with little known about her history. Her sharp instincts and willingness to bend the rules make her a great amateur investigator, although her tendency to take matters into her own hands often puts her at odds with local law enforcement.
But Emily is much more complex than she initially appears. Her real name isn’t even Emily, it’s Grace. And before settling in Fletcher’s Grove, she was a skilled hacker who became involved in cybercrime and later worked with the CIA. Her experiences, including a betrayal by her former partner, have made her cautious, secretive and reluctant to trust others. Despite her efforts to keep people at a distance, Emily has grown close to Detective Sam Wilner and his daughter, Violet. Still, she’s managed to keep much of her past a secret, though those guarded secrets seem to be coming to light one by one.
Peter Mooney as Detective Sam Wilner
Known from: Rookie Blue, Camelot, The Prodigy, We Were Wolves, Burden of Truth
Peter Mooney plays Sam Wilner, a detective with the Fletcher’s Grove Police Department and a single father to his teenage daughter, Violet. Sam is levelheaded, compassionate and protective of his loved ones, particularly his daughter. Unlike Emily, Sam is no vigilante, he is a by-the-book detective who takes his responsibilities seriously. He prefers to follow the evidence and proper procedures, which sometimes puts him at odds with Emily. Still, he respects her intelligence and instincts, even if her habit of inserting herself into police investigations tests his patience.
Along the way, Sam has also developed strong romantic feelings for Emily. But her reluctance to open up has made their relationship complicated. As a detective, he’s naturally suspicious of her secrecy, but as a father, he’s even more concerned about how her mysterious past could affect Violet. By the end of Season 2, Emily finally begins opening up to him, giving their relationship a chance to move forward. However, with more of her secrets still waiting to be uncovered, Sam may find himself torn between his feelings for Emily and his duty to protect his daughter.
Sierra Marilyn Riley as Violet Wilner
Known from: Motorheads
Sierra Marilyn Riley plays Violet Wilner, the teenage daughter of Detective Sam Wilner. Violet is a bright girl, with a curious personality and a tendency to get caught up in the mysteries unfolding around her small town. She’s also a typical teenager in many ways, navigating high school, friendships and her first romantic interests while dealing with a protective father.
Violet has developed a particularly close bond with Emily, whom she considers a friend and trusted confidante. She’s supportive of Emily’s relationship with her father and often finds herself caught in the middle when the two disagree. In Season 2, Violet becomes personally involved in a murder investigation when a boy she’s been tutoring falls under suspicion, putting her in danger and giving Sam even more reason to worry about her safety. As Season 3 begins, Violet remains one of Emily’s strongest supporters, despite everything that has surfaced.
Lara Amersey as June Hubble
Known from: Monster Warriors, Christmas at the Knightlys, A Perfect Match, Operation Nutcracker
Lara Amersey plays June Hubble, one of Emily’s closest friends in Fletcher’s Grove. Kindhearted and loyal, June is a supportive friend who helps Emily feel at home in the small town. Unlike some of the community’s more opinionated residents, June has a relatively calm and easygoing personality.
June also has firsthand experience with the town’s murder mysteries. In Season 1, she becomes a suspect in a murder at a local Christmas tree farm, prompting Emily to investigate and clear her name. Despite the ordeal, June remains a trusted friend to Emily, even as questions surrounding Emily’s own mysterious past continue to emerge.
Jean Yoon as Sue Shin
Known from: Kim’s Convenience, Orphan Black, The Expanse, Remedy, Dark Matter
Jean Yoon plays Sue Shin, the grouchy owner of Sue’s Diner, a popular gathering spot for the residents of Fletcher’s Grove. Sue is a no-nonsense woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, especially when someone gets on her bad side. She’s stubborn, opinionated and known to hold a grudge, but she’s still a dependable member of the community, and the locals continue to support her and her business.
Sue has a particularly soft spot for Violet Wilner, whom she takes under her wing and hires to work at the diner. She’s also extremely protective of her business and takes great pride in her cooking, making her less than enthusiastic when a new upscale restaurant opens in town. Despite her tendency to complain, Sue is always willing to lend a hand to the locals of Fletcher’s Grove.
Kylee Evans as Brooke Carmichael
Known from: Luckiest Girl Alive, Good Witch, The Stanley Dynamic, Billable Hours
Kylee Evans plays Brooke Carmichael, one of the town’s most outspoken and eccentric residents. As a bit of a busybody, Brooke loves being involved in town affairs and rarely misses an opportunity to share her opinions or gossip, whether anyone asked for them or not. She can be a bit self-absorbed, often more concerned with her own interests than those of the people around her. While her tendency to make everything about herself can rub others the wrong way, her dramatic personality and complete lack of self-awareness also make her one of the show’s main sources of comic relief.
Aaron Ashmore as Aaron
Known from: Veronica Mars, The Thaw, Killjoys, Warehouse 13, SkyMed, Ginny & Georgia
Aaron Ashmore plays Aaron, Emily’s former boyfriend and the leader of Chimera, the hacking group she belonged to before moving to Fletcher’s Grove. Intelligent and charming, Aaron has the perfect combination of traits to make him a highly manipulative partner. He initially presented himself as something of a modern-day Robin Hood, using his hacking skills to steal from the wealthy and redistribute their fortunes to those in need.
Their relationship fell apart when Emily discovered that Aaron had been secretly communicating with terrorist financing networks. When authorities attempted to arrest him, Aaron escaped while Emily was taken into custody. She later worked with the CIA to track him down, but Aaron managed to remain out of reach. His unexpected appearance at Emily’s doorstep in the Season 2 finale brings her secretive past into the life she’s built in Fletcher’s Grove.
David Hewlett as Ray
Known from: The Shape of Water, Stargate SG-1, See, Dark Matter, Traders, Clarice
David Hewlett plays Ray, better known around Fletcher’s Grove as “Famous Ray,” a well-connected local businessman and event planner. With his outgoing personality and knack for knowing what’s happening around town, Ray is a useful source of information for Emily, who frequently turns to him for help with her investigations. He’s also discreet enough to handle sensitive requests, making him one of the few people Emily feels comfortable confiding in.
Although Ray is generally friendly and helpful, he’s not above keeping a few secrets of his own. In Season 2, he becomes a suspect in a restaurant owner’s murder after a financial dispute turns physical. Rather than face the police, Ray seeks refuge with Emily, who agrees to hide him while investigating the crime. The ordeal puts their friendship to the test, but also demonstrates how much the two have come to trust one another.
Kolton Stewart as Kyle Granger
Known from: Some Assembly Required, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Disenchanted, Heated Rivalry
Kolton Stewart plays Kyle Granger, a talented and ambitious high school chess player who has his sights set on earning a college scholarship. While chess comes naturally to him, academics are another story, and his struggles in English nearly cost him his spot on the team. Kyle and Violet started growing closer in Season 2, evening becoming a couple.
However, things get complicated when Kyle becomes a suspect in the murder of his chess coach, Tim Henley. Despite the evidence against him, Violet stands by Kyle, convinced of his innocence. Although Kyle is eventually cleared of suspicion, the experience leaves him with plenty to process as he moves forward with his relationship with Violet.
Brendan Morgan as Thomas Chase (NEW)
Known from: F*** Marry Kill, The Handmaid’s Tale, Heated Rivalry, Second Guessing Fate
Brendan Morgan joins Mistletoe Murders Season 3 as Thomas Chase, a new character whose role in Fletcher’s Grove has yet to be revealed. Morgan has appeared in several television dramas, including The Handmaid’s Tale. He’s also no stranger to holiday entertainment, having appeared in Country Hearts Christmas, Christmas with a Kiss and Netflix’s Meet Me Next Christmas.
Oluniké Adeliyi as Janet Chase (NEW)
Known from: The Running Man, Village Keeper, The Fire Inside, The Expanse, Workin’ Moms
Oluniké Adeliyi joins Mistletoe Murders Season 3 as Janet Chase, a new character in Fletcher’s Grove. Although Janet is expected to appear in multiple episodes, little has been revealed about her character or connection to the town’s ongoing mysteries.
Catherine Bell (NEW)
Known from: Bruce Almighty, Men of War, Good Witch, Army Wives, JAG, The Triangle
Catherine Bell joins Mistletoe Murders Season 3 as a local wreath maker whose history of losing husbands under suspicious circumstances makes her the focus of Emily and Sam’s latest investigation. Nicknamed the “Grim Wreather,” she’s rumored to be a black widow killer, although whether she’s actually responsible for the deaths remains a mystery.
