In Scotland, Stanley MacLaurel (Stan Laurel) and his friend Ollie Hardy (Oliver Hardy) break out of jail to attend the reading of Stanley's grandfather's will. Disappointed not to receive any of the MacLaurel fortune, the friends stumble into an entanglement with Stanley's cousin, Lorna -- who, as the underage family heir, must go to India with the estate's guardian. Stanley and Ollie also travel to India as accidental Army enlistees, where they must protect Lorna's true love, a fellow soldier.
