‘The Mob’ Episodes 3 and 4 Preview

With 11 celebrities remaining, tensions are mounting within the Family, and Joe Gorga’s position as don is looking increasingly uncertain. Bella Palk was the first to be whacked in Episode 1, but the events of Episode 2 have raised questions about just how much longer Joe can hold on to power.

Episode 3, “This Is a Deadly Game,” brings simmering tensions to the surface as a heated Family meeting forces Demi Engemann and Joe to reconsider their next moves. Meanwhile, Romeo Miller finds himself in a difficult position during the Crime Scene Job, leaving much of the Family feeling slighted and ready to take action.

In Episode 4, “Going to War,” an unexpected shake-up gives the Family something to celebrate. The Crate Packing Job puts everyone under pressure, particularly Demi and Debi Mazar, who face their biggest challenge yet. With tensions running high and Demi might find herself on the chopping block.

What Happened on ‘The Mob’ Last Week?

Need a refresher? Here’s what happened across Episodes 1 and 2 of The Mob, which released together on October 26.

Episode Recap

Twelve celebrities moved into a villa in Italy to form the Family, with Parker Posey as host. Episode 1, “Kiss the Ring,” covered the first Job, the choice of the first don and the first whacking. Episode 2, “There’s Always a Rat,” ran the Wine Bottling Job and the first Loyalty Pledge.

The Jobs

The Family’s first Job sent the celebrities on a mission to destroy two cars containing incriminating evidence wanted by the feds. Split into two teams led by Joe Gorga and Harry Jowsey, the players had to search through vehicles for clues, crack combination locks and recover six envelopes containing $3,000 each.

Joe’s team finished first, setting off an explosion that destroyed their target vehicle. Together, the Family recovered five of the six envelopes, earning $15,000 of a possible $18,000. Joe’s victory also earned him the title of the Family’s first don.

Episode 2’s Wine Bottling Job traded explosives for a more traditional Italian pastime: winemaking. With Joe overseeing the operation as don, the remaining celebrities were assigned different roles in the production process. The goal was to produce 60 bottles of red and white wine and pack them into four crates.

After an hour of intense physical effort, a few questionable winemaking techniques and lots of shouting, the Family only managed to fill two crates. Their final earnings came to $12,000 of a possible $24,000.

The Don

Joe Gorga, of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, holds the power the show is built around. He wears a ring the rest of the Family has to kiss, decides how the money from each Job is split and chooses who gets whacked.

In Episode 1, he handed out $3,000 envelopes to Chelsea Lazkani, Debi Mazar, Demi Engemann, Willam Belli and himself. In Episode 2, he distributed $12,000, giving $3,000 each to Demi and Harry Jowsey while keeping $6,000 for himself. Joe was also excluded from the Wine Bottling Job, meaning his decisions rested entirely on what the Family told him.

Maria Georgas was particularly furious about being left empty-handed, especially since she believed she had worked harder in the challenge than Demi, who received a payout. Feeling overlooked and questioning Joe’s judgment, Maria began campaigning to overthrow him.

The Loyalty Pledge in Episode 2 put Joe’s position at risk for the first time, giving the Family an opportunity to pledge allegiance to a new leader. However, the results of the pledge were not revealed before the end of the episode.

The Whacking

Players were called into the room one at a time until two remained, Bella Palk and Harry. Joe had called Bella the weakest member of his team, and Harry’s group had failed to win the Job due to Harry being unable to open an old-school lock. He whacked Bella, who became the first player out and is the only Family member whacked so far.

What is ‘The Mob’ About?

From the producers of The Traitors, Hulu’s new reality competition series The Mob drops a group of celebrities into a lavish Italian villa, where they must shake down, hustle and whack their way to the finale. The competition challenges contestants to complete a series of mob-inspired jobs while navigating alliances, power struggles and betrayals within the family.

Each job gives contestants the opportunity to earn envelopes of cash for the Family. But completing the challenge doesn’t guarantee a payday. That’s up to the don, who decides which contestants receive a $3,000 envelope, money they get to keep even if they’re eliminated from the competition. At the end of the season, the final don also gets to decide how to divide the $100,000 grand prize.

The group picks one of their own to run the Family, and whoever takes the chair holds enormous power over who earns money, who stays and who gets whacked. The rest are not stuck with the decision, though. A don who overreaches can be overthrown, which turns every job into a question of whether to serve the boss or start counting votes against them.

Season 1 brings 12 celebrities to Italy, drawn from across reality television and scripted TV. The show is hosted by Hollywood actress Parker Posey, best known for her roles in The White Lotus, You’ve Got Mail and Scream 3. New episodes of The Mob drop weekly on Hulu every Monday.
