‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Cast and Characters

This season of Ted Lasso will look much different than the prior three with the future of the show set to follow the new AFC women’s football team.

While the core cast of characters are set to return, fans will get a chance to fall in love with a whole ensemble of new characters comprising the women’s soccer team.

Season 4 premieres August 5 on Apple TV.

Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso is the relentlessly optimistic American football coach turned British football coach who took over an English soccer club with no knowledge of how the sport works. Armed with unwavering kindness and a belief that people matter more than wins and losses, Ted transforms AFC Richmond on and off the pitch.

Beneath the extreme cheeriness, however, Ted quietly struggles with anxiety and panic attacks while navigating grief, divorce and the challenges of being away from his son. By the end of Season 3, after leading Richmond to new heights, Ted makes the difficult decision to return home to Kansas City to be closer to his family and coach his son’s soccer team. In Season 4, Ted returns to Richmond once again, this time to help launch and coach AFC Richmond’s new women’s team.

Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard

Coach Beard is Ted Lasso’s deadly serious and fiercely loyal assistant coach and closest confidant. Brilliant, intensely competitive and just a little bit weird, Beard balances Ted’s optimism with tactical expertise and a dry, unconventional sense of humor. Though he rarely shows his emotions, his support and willingness to challenge Ted make him an indispensable part of AFC Richmond’s success. In Season 4, Beard resumes his role on the sidelines as he and Ted take on a new challenge: building AFC Richmond’s women’s team from the ground up and guiding the club into its next chapter.

Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton

Rebecca Welton is the owner of AFC Richmond, initially acquiring the club to spite her cheating ex-husband, Rupert. However, hiring Ted Lasso unexpectedly changes her perspective, helping her rediscover her compassion, confidence and love for the club. Over time, Rebecca evolves into a respected leader who fiercely supports her players, coaches and community, transforming AFC Richmond into one of England’s most admired football clubs. In Season 4, Rebecca continues to build on that legacy by expanding the organization with the launch of AFC Richmond’s women’s soccer team.

Juno Temple as Keeley Jones

Keeley Jones started the series as a model, social media influencer and WAG (footballer’s girlfriend) before breaking from the mold to begin her own PR firm. She’s warm, emotionally intuitive and often the heart of the group’s friendships thanks to her ability to bring people together. Throughout the series, Keeley grows into a confident business leader, proving she’s far more than the labels others once placed on her while continuing to champion the people and community she loves.

Her relationships with both Jamie Tartt and Roy Kent help shape her journey, but by the end of Season 3 she chooses independence over romance, deciding that her own growth and happiness are more important than defining herself through a partner.

Although his complicated relationship with Keeley Jones remains unresolved at the end of Season 3, Roy is committed to becoming the best version of himself. In Season 4, Roy continues coaching Richmond’s men’s squad while lending his experience and leadership to the club’s newly launched women’s team.

Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins

Tanya Reynolds as Alice Chilton
