No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies (2-1) at No. 10 LSU Tigers (2-1) — Game Preview
No. 23 Texas A&M brings a 2-1 record into Tiger Stadium on Saturday night to face No. 10 LSU, which also sits at 2-1 heading into this SEC meeting in Baton Rouge. With both programs carrying one loss and top-25 standing on the line, the result will shape how each is viewed in the conference race and in the next poll release. Marcel Reed has been the more efficient passer for the Aggies, completing 62 of 104 attempts for 632 yards with six touchdowns against three interceptions.
Sam Leavitt has pushed the ball for more yardage on the home side at 732 yards through the air, but his three touchdowns and five interceptions put ball security at the center of the LSU offense’s evening. Dilin Jones gives the Tigers a steady ground option with 285 yards and three scores on 64 carries, while Princewill Umanmielen and his six sacks loom as the biggest threat to Reed’s timing in the pocket. A night kickoff in Death Valley adds another layer for an Aggies team trying to steal a ranked road win.

Players to Watch: Texas A&M Aggies vs. LSU Tigers
Texas A&M Aggies
Marcel Reed — QB. Through three games, Reed has completed 62 of 104 passes for 632 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Keeping that touchdown-to-turnover balance intact against a pass rush this disruptive will decide how far the Aggies’ offense can travel in Baton Rouge.
Rueben Owens II — RB. Owens has turned 45 carries into 186 yards and a touchdown so far. A productive night from him would slow the LSU front and give Reed cleaner passing downs.
T.J. Searcy — DE. Searcy has one sack on the season, and the Aggies need him to get home more often against a quarterback who has thrown five interceptions. Pressure off the edge is the fastest route to forcing another mistake.
LSU Tigers
Sam Leavitt — QB. With 732 passing yards on 57 of 93 attempts, Leavitt has shown he can move the chains through the air. His three touchdowns against five interceptions are the number to watch, since a clean game from him changes the complexion of this matchup.
Dilin Jones — RB. Jones has carried the ball 64 times for 285 yards and three touchdowns, giving the Tigers a reliable back to lean on. Establishing him early would take pressure off Leavitt and keep the crowd in the game.
Princewill Umanmielen — DE. Six sacks through three games make Umanmielen a constant problem for opposing offensive lines. Every Aggies protection call will have to account for where he lines up.
