South Carolina (2-1) at No. 8 Alabama (3-0) — Game Preview
South Carolina (2-1) travels to Bryant-Denny Stadium to face No. 8 Alabama (3-0) in a Saturday night meeting in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide arrive unbeaten and ranked with a poll position to protect at home, while the Gamecocks carry a single loss and a chance to reset their season against a ranked opponent on the road. The quarterback matchup frames most of it, with Keelon Russell completing 57 of 83 passes for 764 yards and four touchdowns against two interceptions, where LaNorris Sellers counters with 648 yards on 54-of-86 passing and five scores but also three picks.
That turnover column is the number to watch for Sellers against an Alabama front that has Devan Thompkins at three sacks. South Carolina does have a second path through the ground game, since Matt Fuller has turned 38 carries into 272 yards and three touchdowns. On the home side Daniel Hill has handled the same workload at 38 carries for 210 yards and three scores, which keeps the Alabama offense from leaning entirely on Russell’s arm.

Players to Watch: South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Alabama Crimson Tide
South Carolina Gamecocks
LaNorris Sellers — QB. Through three games Sellers has completed 54 of 86 passes for 648 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. Taking care of the ball in a hostile road environment is the clearest route to keeping South Carolina in this one.
Matt Fuller — RB. A 38-carry, 272-yard start with three touchdowns makes Fuller the Gamecocks’ most reliable way to shorten the game. Steady production on early downs would also take pressure off Sellers.
Anthony Addison — DE. Off the edge, Addison has two sacks so far and gives South Carolina a pass rusher capable of disrupting Russell’s timing.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Keelon Russell — QB. Russell has thrown for 764 yards on 57-of-83 passing with four touchdowns and two interceptions during the Crimson Tide’s unbeaten start. He’s been efficient enough to keep the offense on schedule, and a clean night at home would keep Alabama rolling.
Daniel Hill — RB. Carrying the ball 38 times for 210 yards and three scores, Hill gives Alabama balance behind Russell. His work near the goal line is worth tracking against a Gamecocks defense that will be keyed on the passing game.
Devan Thompkins — DL. Three sacks already put Thompkins at the center of the Alabama pass rush. Against a quarterback who has thrown three interceptions, pressure from the interior could force the mistakes the Crimson Tide want.
