Tyvonn Byars — RB. Sixteen carries produced 104 yards for Byars, the clear engine of Rice’s opening-week offense. His workload figures to grow again if Rice wants to control the clock against a ranked host.
Chibby Nwajuaku — DL. Two sacks already have Nwajuaku on the radar as a disruptive force up front. Notre Dame’s protection will need to account for him early.
