North Texas (0-0) opens its season on the road against No. 6 Indiana (0-0) at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Indiana enters the year ranked in the top 10 nationally, giving the Hoosiers a chance to open with a statement win over an out-of-conference opponent in front of their home crowd.
Indiana hands the offense to transfer quarterback Josh Hoover, who arrives from TCU to replace Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza under center. North Texas counters with Tayven Jackson, a name well known in Bloomington after his run as Indiana’s own starting quarterback before he transferred away.
