New England Patriots (1-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) — Game Preview
The New England Patriots (1-1) head south to EverBank Stadium to meet the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) with both clubs looking to climb above an even record. Jacksonville has been the sharper offense so far, scoring 23.5 points per game and converting 45.5% of its third downs, while New England sits at 15.0 points per game with a 32.1% third-down rate.
That gap runs straight through the quarterbacks, where Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 434 yards and 4 touchdowns against 1 interception and Drake Maye has 386 yards with 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions. Maye’s picks are part of a wider ball-security problem for a Patriots offense that has 5 giveaways, compared with just 1 for the Jaguars.
On the home side, Bhayshul Tuten gives the offense a steady ground presence with 131 rushing yards on 28 carries, and Parker Washington has turned 18 targets into 12 catches for 181 yards. For New England, a clean afternoon from Maye may matter more than any single matchup on the field.

Players to Watch: New England Patriots vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
New England Patriots
Drake Maye — QB. Through 2 games Maye has completed 37 of 55 passes for 386 yards, with 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions. His 67.3% completion rate shows the accuracy is there, but a 63.1 passer rating reflects how costly the turnovers have been.
Romeo Doubs — WR. Few receivers in this matchup have done more with less, as Doubs leads the Patriots with 96 receiving yards on only 3 catches. That works out to 32.0 yards per reception, helped by a 63-yard grab, and he has drawn 7 targets.
Dre’Mont Jones — DE. Listed as questionable with a shoulder issue, Jones has 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss and 3 total tackles on the season. New England needs his push off the edge against a Jacksonville passing game averaging 217.0 yards per game.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence — QB. Lawrence has been efficient and aggressive in equal measure, throwing for 434 yards and 4 touchdowns with just 1 interception. A 110.6 passer rating and 8.3 yards per attempt put him well ahead of his counterpart in both categories.
Parker Washington — WR. The Jaguars’ leading receiver has 12 catches for 181 yards and 1 touchdown on 18 targets. At 15.1 yards per catch with a long of 32, he gives Lawrence a reliable option at every level of the field.
Josh Hines-Allen — DE. Quarterbacks under pressure make mistakes, and Hines-Allen already has 1.5 sacks, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1 forced fumble to go with 8 total tackles. Against a Patriots offense with 5 giveaways, he’s the defender most likely to swing possession.
