Houston Texans (0-2) at Indianapolis Colts (0-2) — Game Preview
Two AFC South rivals still hunting their first win meet at Lucas Oil Stadium, where the 0-2 Houston Texans visit the 0-2 Indianapolis Colts. Houston is piling up 405.5 yards per game but turning that into just 18.5 points, while Indianapolis scores 26.5 points per game yet gives back 37.0 on the other side of the ball.
C.J. Stroud has thrown for 627 yards without an interception, though the 7 sacks he has taken make the Colts’ pass rush a genuine swing factor. Daniel Jones answers with a 66.1% completion rate and 376 passing yards, and both clubs arrive carrying an identical -2 turnover differential. The ground game could tilt things toward the home side, where Jonathan Taylor has run for 190 yards and 4 touchdowns at 4.4 yards per carry.
Dalton Schultz gives Stroud a steady outlet with 16 catches for 175 yards, and that’s a real problem for a Colts defense allowing 530.0 yards per game.

Players to Watch: Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts
Houston Texans
C.J. Stroud — QB. Through two starts Stroud has completed 56 of 93 passes for 627 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions. His 87.5 passer rating reflects clean ball security, even if the 7 sacks he has absorbed point to protection issues the Texans need to fix.
Dalton Schultz — TE. Houston’s leading receiver is its tight end, and Schultz has hauled in 16 of his 22 targets for 175 yards. He averages 10.9 yards per catch with a long of 35, which makes him the chain-moving option Stroud keeps finding.
Will Anderson Jr. — DE. Pressure is where Anderson earns his keep, with 1.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss already on his ledger. He has added 11 total tackles, a busy early workload for an edge defender lining up against a Colts offense scoring 26.5 points per game.
Indianapolis Colts
Daniel Jones — QB. Efficiency has been the calling card for Jones, who is completing 66.1% of his passes for 376 yards with 2 touchdowns. He has also thrown 2 interceptions, and his 79.8 passer rating leaves room to grow against a Houston defense allowing 28.0 points per game.
Jonathan Taylor — RB. Nobody on the Colts has carried the load like Taylor, who leads the team with 190 rushing yards on 43 carries. His 4 rushing touchdowns and 4.4 yards per carry make him the centerpiece of an Indianapolis ground game averaging 110.5 yards per game.
DeForest Buckner — DT. Anchoring the interior of the Indianapolis line, Buckner has 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss along with 7 total tackles. Collapsing the pocket on Stroud is the clearest path to slowing a Houston passing attack averaging 285.5 yards per game.
