Green Bay Packers (0-1) at New York Jets (1-0) — Game Preview
The Green Bay Packers (0-1) head to MetLife Stadium to face the New York Jets (1-0) with both teams still working out their identity in the season’s early going. Green Bay actually outgained New York in the opener, piling up 419 total yards to the Jets’ 367, yet the Packers sit at -1 in turnover margin against New York’s +1, a swing that stands out more than any other number on the sheet. Jordan Love completed 21 of 42 passes for 387 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in that game, a 50.0% completion clip he will look to push higher against a Jets defense picking up steam early in the year. Geno Smith countered with a tidier outing for New York, going 19 of 24 for 215 yards at a 79.2% clip, and running back Breece Hall backed him up with 102 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Green Bay converted just 25.0% of its third downs a week ago against a New York defense that already has a sack from edge rusher Will McDonald IV, while linebacker Edgerrin Cooper gives the Packers a pass rush answer of their own on the other side of the ball.

Players to Watch: Green Bay Packers vs. New York Jets
Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love — QB. Love completed 21 of 42 passes for 387 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in Green Bay’s opener, headlining the Packers passing attack ahead of the trip to East Rutherford. That works out to a 50.0% completion rate, a number he will want to see climb against a Jets defense that is already generating pressure off the edge.
Christian Watson — WR. Watson turned 6 receptions into 147 yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 1, an average of 24.5 yards a catch that made him Green Bay’s most explosive weapon through one game. He gives Love a proven downfield option as the Packers look to build some consistency on offense.
Edgerrin Cooper — LB. Cooper already has a sack to his name through Green Bay’s first game, part of a Packers defense that piled up 59 total tackles and 5 tackles for loss in Week 1. He anchors a front seven that will be asked to slow down a New York rushing attack that found room to run in its opener.
New York Jets
Geno Smith — QB. Smith was efficient in New York’s win, completing 19 of his 24 attempts for 215 yards, a 79.2% clip that reflects the low-risk approach the Jets leaned on to open the season. He will look to keep that accuracy up as New York tries to stay unbeaten at home.
Breece Hall — RB. Hall carried 22 times for 102 yards and a touchdown in the season opener, giving New York a workhorse back capable of controlling the clock. His 4.6 yards-per-carry average puts real pressure on Green Bay’s front seven to hold up over four quarters.
Will McDonald IV — DE. McDonald already has a sack in the early going, part of a Jets defensive front that posted 46 total tackles and 4 tackles for loss in Week 1. He gives New York an edge presence that could complicate things for Green Bay’s protection up front.
