DIRECTV Celebrates 28 Years By Giving Back to the Communities it Serves

Since its launch in 1994, DIRECTV has continually evolved as an entertainment company innovating to deliver best-in-class experiences and entertainment into homes, local restaurants, in airplanes and much more.

As the only company focused solely on live video distribution nationwide, we’ve made it a priority to represent and support the communities in which we live and work from day one.

That commitment to the places we call home or work out of is why hundreds of DIRECTV employees across the country will celebrate our 28th birthday by volunteering in their cities and towns throughout the week of June 13, culminating on our actual birthday, Friday, June 17. These efforts will build on our commitment to our neighbors around the country and underscore how we champion and bring our “We Care, We Challenge, We Deliver” values to life every day.

“As we celebrate our 28th birthday, we’re bringing these two very important groups together to deliver impactful connections that transform lives for the better.” – Bill Morrow, CEO, DIRECTV

“In addition to our customers, our employees and the communities we serve play an important role in making DIRECTV the company we are today,” said Bill Morrow, CEO, DIRECTV. “As we celebrate our 28th birthday, we’re bringing these two very important groups together to deliver impactful connections that transform lives for the better.”

Among the various local community engagement opportunities available, employees have volunteered to engage with local Ronald McDonald House Charities Chapters in 10 markets (Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Boise, Idaho, Huntington, W.Va., Huntsville, Ala., , Missoula, Mont., and Sunrise, Fla.), as well as virtually.

Onsite at Ronald McDonald House Charities Chapters, DIRECTV employees will prepare and serve meals, clean and refresh playrooms and gardens and create care packages for families that are temporarily staying at the house while their children receive care at a nearby hospital.
